Abstract
The invention relates to improved fluid collection containment devices and methods, utilizing a porous material separator that provides no or an acceptable level of interference with common diagnostic analytes. According to an aspect of the invention, the porous material separator (22) is disposed in the tube (10) in a predetermined position after centrifugation with a geometry that facilitates a sufficient separation of a blood sample while enabling usage in diagnostic blood testing.
