Abstract

A system and method is provided for notifying a calling party about the current local time and the current geographic location of the called party, to aid the calling party in deciding on continuing the call or otherwise. A calling party is notified about the geographic location and the current local time associated with the geographic location of the called party. Based on the received notification the calling party can decide whether to continue with the call or abandon the call. If the call is considered urgent, the calling party can elect to continue with the call despite receiving the notification indicating the geographic location and current local time of called party. The calling party will be notified about the geographic location of called party and the corresponding current local time only if called party has activated the system.
