Abstract

A container for the disposal of used syringe needle assemblies is provided. The container is arranged for holding a plurality of needle assemblies and comprises a plurality of openings (26, 42, 76) having lips (28, 48) being able to retain a flange (11) of a needle hub (10). The openings (26, 42, 76) are thus configured to resist, after a needle assembly has been inserted into one of the openings (26, 42, 76), removal of the needle assembly from the container, and so as to allow relative movement between the needle hub (10) and syringe body (2) so as to cause separation of the needle hub (10) from the syringe body (2).
