Abstract

The invention discloses a managing method and apparatus for mobile terminals, and a first encryption key set by a user is stored in the set read-only region of a mobile terminal; the managing method comprises: detecting operation executed to the mobile terminal; when determining that the operation is the type of the first pre-set operations, prompting the user to input a verification key of the first encryption key; verifying the verification key inputted by the user according to the first encryption key stored in the read-only region, and if the verification is unsuccessful, controlling the mobile terminal to enter a pre-set security protection mode. With the technique solution, the security of the mobile terminal is ensured, and the case that a mobile terminal is continued to be used by other users after being stolen or lost is effectively avoided.
