Abstract
It is an object to provide a transmission apparatus capable of increasing the transmission efficiency of a wide area Ethernet (registered trademark) network without increasing the number of managing steps. To accomplish this object, when a MAC frame is transferred between transmission apparatuses, the transmission apparatus disclosed in the present application performs transmission processing using a frame (F30) obtained by contracting the DA and SA of the MAC frame to 3-byte ID and automatically updates the ID, DA, and SA stored in conversion CAM units (150a and 150b) using a learning frame (F40).
