Abstract

A signal demodulation section (203) generates stream data multiplexed by demodulating a signal of an arbitrary channel included in a broadcast wave. A demultiplexing/decoding section (205) demultiplexes the stream data into text data, image data, audio data, or the like constituting broadcast contents. A display section (206) outputs the text and image data. An audio output section (207) outputs the audio data. An activation control signal detecting section (204) controls the activation of the signal demodulation section (203), the demultiplexing/decoding section (205), the display section (206), and the audio output section (207) when detecting an activation control signal from the signal. This improves the convenience of the user in using push broadcasting through a broadcast receiver.
