Abstract

A content distribution system (1) comprises a server means (10) and a plurality of terminal means. The server means distributes one or a plurality of contents and determines the attributes of the distributed contents to determine a distribution start position. The plurality of terminal means include at least first and second terminal means (20, 30) that can receive and reproduce a distributed content, can make a distribution request for a content to be distributed, and can make a stop request for the reproduction of a distributed content while the distributed content is being reproduced. After the stop request is issued from the first terminal means, on the condition that the distribution request is issued from the second terminal means, the server means distributes, from the predetermined distribution start position, a content that is distributed to the first terminal means to the second terminal means. This makes it possible, depending on the attribute of a content, to appropriately restart the content.
