Abstract

An authentication device capable of performing multiple instances of image authentication by one time of imaging using a single camera. The authentication device determines that authentication is successful when the similarity, compared and calculated by an authentication section (261), between a first template that is stored in a registered-template database (262) and a first image that forms one region of an image obtained by an imaging device (22) is not less than a first predetermined value and simultaneously when the similarity, compared and calculated also by the authentication section (261), between a second template that is stored in the registered-template database (262) and a second image that forms the one region of the image obtained by the imaging device (22) and forms an image different from the first image is not less than the first predetermined value.
