- a display apparatus comprising: a signal receiving unit which receives a broadcast signal; a signal processing unit which processes the broadcast signal; a user input unit which receives a selection signal of at least one broadcast method among a plurality of broadcast methods; and a controlling unit which determines whether a received broadcast method of the received broadcast signal is one of selected broadcast methods to which the selection signal is input by the user input unit if the broadcast signal is received from the signal receiving unit, and controls the signal processing unit to process the received broadcast signal based on the selected broadcast method if the received broadcast method is one of the selected broadcast methods.
