Abstract

This invention provides a type of communication method and device which supports MBMS services within IMS systems, including: providing UE with basic information for available services via a signal control channel; receiving competence information from UE to confirm that MBMS services are supported; receiving a service request from UE issued on the basis of said basic information; based on the competence information and service request, assisting UE and the MBMS service nodes to establish service carriers; receiving requests to adjust the service carrier mode from UE which are transmitted by the signal control channel; based on the requests to adjust the service carrier mode, instructing MBMS service nodes to change the service carrier mode for transmitting MBMS service data. Using the communications method and device in this invention, the service carrier mode may be adjusted in real time according to the current status of UE, thereby providing mobile clients with a superior mobile application service.
