Abstract
The circular rim, which has the dielectric properties is attached to the insulator in a manner so that the wire which is under voltage is held approximately in the centre of the circular rim. The highest point of the circular rim bears a small plate with spikes preventing the birds from landing on what is in fact the highest point of the circular rim. The circular rim will also prevent the birds from getting into the dangerously close vicinity from the high voltage wire through stepping on the console supporting the insulators.
Description
l:
A device for preventing the birds from approaching the structures of aerial high-voltage trunk line systems
Technical Field
The invention refers to a mechanical device intended for placing on structures of aerial high-, voltage trunk line systems to prevent birds from approaching and touching down the non- insulated parts of high-voltage trunk line towers, which will prevent birds from being killed by flashovers.
Discussion of the Prior Art
Quite a few patent documents include the descriptions of connections and circuit diagrams intended to prevent birds from touching down the high-voltage trunk line towers. For example, these documents refer to solutions whereby the principle of solution consists in automatic switching on an audible signal which disallows the touching down of birds by flashing these away. Devices in the T-shape have been tested in practice, mounted on support brackets of high-voltage trunk line towers, which were intended to prevent birds from touching down the most hazardous tower parts. The protection of birds in this way, however, was found to be ineffective. Another field tested solution is based on the use of combs attached to horizontal brackets of high- voltage trunk line towers. Neither this solution proved to be effective enough. The published Slovakian Patent Application PP 810-96 includes the description of a device intended to prevent birds from being killed by flashovers, including suppressing the failures of electricity transmission systems caused by birds. This protecting device is intended for mounting on horizontal arms of the supporting bracket, between wires. This protecting device consists of a base equipped with minimum one tooth in shape of a triangle. The triangles are attached to the structure bearing the wire supporting elements so
hat the space between each two adjacent insulators and wire is completely filled. Placing of hese protective devices is a time consuming task and it is expensive, too, because this method nvolves the use of significant number of triangles.
background of the Invention
The solution according to this invention, based on the use of a just circular or circular rim iossessing the dielectric properties, attached to tower brackets around the vertical insulator of dgh-voltage trunk wire, removes the above referred shortcomings. The term a just circular im may be understood as the rim of an irregular circular shape elliptical, for example. The im is attached to the bracket under the insulator with the use of mounting elements such as lamping rings, wound around the insulator bottom. The circular rim may be made of a non- onductor of electricity such as the laminate composite, plastic, ceramic based material or ombination of these. The circular rim is attached to the insulator in a manner ensuring that hie wire under voltage is located approximately in the middle of rim and the rim edges are ound minimum, or approximately 250 mm away of the wire. The highest point of the ircular rim may bear a small plate with or without spikes, to prevent birds from touching Own at this place. When two or more circular rims featuring the dielectric properties are ilace onto the horizontal bracket of tower the separate rims may be interconnected with the se of an ancillary arm.
"he rim will also prevent birds from getting into the dangerously close vicinity from the high oltage wire through stepping on the console which supports the insulators, preventing thus drds from being killed by voltage flashovers.
trief Description of Pictures in the Drawings
'he pictures 1 and 2 show the design of a device which consists of circular rim and attaching lements, the picture 3 shows the application of rims on the high-voltage trunk line tower upporting bracket, the picture 4 shows the application of rims on a tower with horizontal racket, the picture 5 shows the design of the rim with plate and spikes.
Field of Application
The principle of invention is based on the use of a device whereby the brackets 6 of the tower K) are provided, around the vertical insulator 4 bearing the high-voltage wire 5. with the circular rim 1 or just circular rim 1, featuring the properties of the dielectric. The term a just circular rim 1 may be understood as the rim of an irregular circular shape elliptical, for example. The said circular rim I is attached to the bracket 6 under on the insulator 4 with the use of attaching elements 2, such as clamping rings, for example, wound around the insulator bottom 4. The circular rim I may be made of electricity non-conducting homogenous materials or a combination of these, such as the laminate composite, plastic, ceramic based material. The circular rim 1 is attached to the insulator 4 in a manner whereby the wire 5_, being under voltage, is located approximately in the centre of the circular rim 1 and this circular rim I is found minimum, or approximately 250 cm away from this wire 5 (centre). The opposite outer edge of the circular rim I on the attaching elements 2 side may be equipped with the plate 3 with/without spikes 9, for preventing the birds from touching down on this place, being in fact the highest point of the circular rim L The circular rim I will also prevent birds from getting into the dangerously close vicinity from the high voltage wire 5_ though stepping on the bracket 6 supporting the insulators 4 thus preventing the voltage flashovers from occurring and subsequent killing of birds.
The further design features with reference to the above are based on the use of two or multiple circular rims I or just circular rims I, with the properties of dielectric whereby on the horizontal bracket 7 of tower the upper parts of rims I are interconnected by means of the ancillary arm S
