Description
Title: A WEIGHT BACK FOR PHYSICAL STRENGTH TRAINING
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a weight band for training physical force
which is worn on a wrist or ankle of a user to increase an exercise effect at
aerobics, jogging, or daily life, and more particularly, to a weight band for
training physical force including a receiving portion formed at a center of a band
for receiving a plurality of weights and a cover for opening or closing an opening
of the receiving portion which can properly adjust the number of weights
depending upon a physical strength of the user and improve a wearing
sensation for the weight band having the cylindrical weight.
Background Art
Generally, a weight band is a supplementary appliance for training
physical force which is worn on a part of a user's body (i.e., wrist or ankle) to
increase an exercise effect at aerobics, jogging, or daily life. Such a weight
band has a weight bag filled with a proper amount of sands, iron powders, or
lead ingots to maintain the weight of the weight bag constantly.
Since the sands, iron powders, or the lead ingots are sealed in the
weight bag, a user cannot adjust the weight optionally. Consequently, the user
cannot help wearing the weight band of fixed weight irrespective of the physical
strength of the user. If a weak or tired user wears the weight band of fixed
weight, it does not increase the exercise effect, but adversely affects the user,
because of the load.
In addition, since the portion which contacts a human body is formed in
a flat shape, the weight band is not closely contacted with the wrist or ankle of
the user. Therefore, there is a bad wearing sensation.
Disclosure
Technical Problem
The present invention has been made in view of the foregoing
problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a weight band
for training physical force which is worn on a wrist or ankle of a user to increase
an exercise effect and strengthen muscular strength at aerobics, jogging, or
daily life, and more particularly by easily adjusting a weight of the weight band,
and also improving a wearing sensation thereof.
Technical Solution
In order to achieve the above objects, in one aspect of the present
invention, there is provided a weight band for training physical force comprising:
a band having a female Velcro fastener and a male Velcro fastener at both ends
thereof; a receiving integrally formed with a center portion of the band for
receiving a plurality of weights and having an opening opened or closed by a
cover; upper and lower bases fixed to upper and lower portions of the band for
fixing weights; and a fixing band fixed to a center portion of the band for fixing
the weight.
Advantageous Effects
According to the weight band of the present invention, the weight band
for training physical force including the receiving portion formed at a center of
the band for receiving a plurality of weights and the cover for opening or closing
the opening of the receiving portion, so that the weight can be properly adjusted
by selecting the number of weights. Consequently, since the load is adjusted
depending upon a physical strength of a user, the physical strength and
muscular strength are effectively increased. Also, since the weight is formed in
a cylindrical shape, a wearing sensation for the weight band is improved.

present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed
description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in
which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a weight bending according to
an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a weight bending according
to an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in FIG. 2;
FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a weight according to
another embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 5 is a view illustrating the state in which a user wears a weight
bending according to an embodiment of the present invention; and
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the wearing state of a weight
bending according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Best Mode
Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiment of
the present invention.
A weight band for training physical force according to an embodiment of
the present invention includes, as shown in FIG. 1 , a band 2 having a female
Velcro fastener 1 and a male Velcro fastener 1 ' at both ends thereof, a receiving
6 integrally formed with a center portion of the band 2 for receiving a plurality of
weights 5 and having an opening 4 opened or closed by a cover 3, upper and
lower bases 7 and T fixed to upper and lower portions of the band 2 for fixing
weights 5', and a fixing band 8 fixed to a center portion of the band 2 for fixing
the weight 5'.
The band 2 has a proper length so that the weight band can be worn on
a wrist or ankle of a user. In addition, the female Velcro fastener 1 and the
male Velcro fastener V are sewn to the both ends of the band 2 so that the
band 2 can be rigidly worn on the wrist or ankle of the user.
The weights 5 and 5' are a cylindrical metal casting 10 (e.g., lead)
coated with an oxide film 9 to prevent the oxidization of the casting, or may be a
metal casting 10 inserted in a cylindrical case 11 made of plastic to prevent the
oxidization thereof, as shown in FIG. 4.
The band 2, the receiving portion 6, the cover 3, and the fixing band 8
are made of leather or artificial leather, and the bases 7 and T are made of rigid
plastic or metal plate having some rigidity.
The cover 3 has a male button 12 installed on one end thereof, and the
receiving portion 6 has a female button 13 installed on a front surface thereof,
so that the opening 4 is closed by engagement of the male button 12 and
female button 13.
The weight band 100 of the present invention configured as described
above is a supplementary appliance for training physical force which is worn on
a part of a user's body (i.e., wrist or ankle) to increase an exercise effect and
strengthen the muscular strength of the user at aerobics, jogging, or daily life.
In particular, since the weight of the weight band can be adjusted, the user
adjusts the weight thereof depending upon the physical state of the user prior to
wearing, so that the exercise effect is more increased at aerobics, jogging, or
daily life.
The weights 5' are fixed to the upper and lower bases 7 and T and the
fixing band 8 which are provided on both ends of the band 2 worn on the wrist
or ankle of the user by the female Velcro fastener 1 and the male Velcro
fastener 1'. The receiving portion 6 is integrally formed with the center portion
of the band 2 to receive the plurality of weights 5, and the opening 4 of the
receiving portion 6 is closed by the cover 3. The weights 5 fixed to both sides
of the band 2 are stationary, but the number of weights 5 accommodated in the
receiving portion 6 integrally formed with the center portion of the band 2 is
varied. Consequently, the weight of the weight band 100 for training the
physical strength according to the present invention may be adjusted.
The opening 4 of the receiving portion 6 is opened or closed by the
cover 3. When the weights 5 are accommodated in the receiving portion 6, the
cover is opened to cause the weights 5 to be easily accommodated in the
receiving portion 6. After the weights 5 are accommodated in the receiving
portion 6, the opening is closed by the cover, so that the weights 5 are not
released from the receiving portion 6 when the user takes exercise.
At the initial stage of exercise, such as, aerobics, jogging, or daily life,
the number of weights 5 accommodated in the receiving portion 6 is minimized
depending upon the physical state of the user. After that, if the physical
strength is increased to some extent, the number of the weights 5
accommodated in the receiving portion 6 is gradually increased. Therefore,
the user can take exercise with a load suitable for the physical state of the user,
thereby effectively increasing the physical strength thereof.
Alternatively, in case the physical strength of the user is exhausted due
to metal or physical stress, no the weights 5 are accommodated in the receiving
portion 6, and the user can take exercise with the weights 5' only fixed to both
sides of the band 2.
The weights 5' fixed to both sides of the band 2 and the weights 5
accommodated in the receiving portion 6 are formed in a cylindrical shape,
differently from the weights filled in the conventional weight bag. Therefore,
the weight band is closely contacted with the wrist or ankle of the user, so that
the wearing sensation is improved to solve the inconvenience due to the
wearing of the weight band to some extent.
In addition, the weights 5 and 5' are made of the cylindrical metal
casting 10 (e.g., lead) coated with the oxide film 9 to prevent the oxidization of
the casting, or is the metal casting 10 inserted in a cylindrical case 11 made of
plastic to prevent the oxidization thereof, so that the weights are not easily
oxidized in air and the shape is maintained for a long time. Also, the lifespan
of the weights is prolonged.
The weight band 100 for training physical force according to the present
invention includes the receiving portion 6 formed at the center portion of the
band 2 for receiving the plurality of weights 5 and the cover 3 for opening or
closing the opening of the receiving portion 6, so that the weight can be properly
adjusted by selecting the number of weights. Consequently, since the load is
adjusted depending upon the physical strength of the user, the physical strength
and muscular strength are effectively increased. Also, since the weights 5 and
5' are formed in the cylindrical shape, the wearing sensation for the weight band
is improved to solve the inconvenience due to the wearing.
Industrial Applicability
As can be seen from the foregoing, the weight band for training physical
force according to the present invention is worn on the wrist or ankle of the user
to increase an exercise effect at aerobics, jogging, or daily life. In particular, by
properly adjusting the number of weights depending upon a physical strength of
the user, the physical strength of the user is increased.
While this invention has been described in connection with what is
presently considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is to
be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiment and
the drawings. On the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and
variations within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
