Description

AUTOMATIC APPARATUS FOR REMOVING RAINDROPS AND MIST ON AUTOMOBILE SIDE MIRROR
Field of Art
The present invention relates to an automatic apparatus for removing raindrops, polka dots and/or mist from side view mirror of automobile, particularly to the automatic apparatus for removing raindrops and/or mist from side view mirror positioned on left/right side of automobile, which provide the driver with each side view, so that enables the careful driving in case of deviating the traffic lane and/or regulating the speed of driving car.
Background of Art
Up to now, there was a difference between each side mirror and the room mirror of automobile, in that the driver cannot control the temperature of each side mirror, but that of room mirror. As a matter of fact, since each side mirror of car is to be set outdoors, it has generally been impossible to control its temperature against the various condition outdoors. Therefore, if the water and/or mist was frozen on the surface of side mirror of car by the cold weather in winter, it could be thawed by the heat provided by operating the thermal wire lined in the mirror for minutes. Nevertheless, it was not possible to clean or remove raindrops, mist or polka dots caused by the environmental change such as the rainy season, from the surface of side mirror. Accordingly, it is required that the side mirrors meet to solve such sensitive and keen problem. Customarily, if such problematic situation occurs during driving, the driver gets rid of the contamination by cleaning the surface of mirror after parking the car beside the road. However, such treatment is so temporary that the mirror keeps clean in spite of the heavy change of environment and temperature. Furthermore, even if, during driving, the driver was able to clean the nearer side mirror by opening the window and extending his arm to reach the surface of mirror, the other side of mirror could never be reached by the driver' s arm. Moreover, such action itself was still dangerous for the careful driving.
Summary of Invention The present invention is provided to solve the aforementioned problems of prior art. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an automatic apparatus for removing the raindrops or mist from the side view mirror of automobile, by setting a windshield wiper on the side view mirror, which can carry out "go and return" action on the mirrors only by the simple ' switching-on' motion of indoor driver. The other object of the present invention is to provide an automatic apparatus for removing the raindrops or mist from the side view mirror of automobile, which also has an ejection nozzle for ejecting the cleanser liquid over the mirror, in order to clean the surface of the mirror even when the mirror is contaminated by the heavy contamination. DETAILED DESCRIPTION FOR EMBODIMENT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION IN THE BEST MODE
According to a preferable aspect of the invention, the invention provides an automatic apparatus for removing the raindrops or mist from the side view mirror of automobile, in which a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 or an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is connected to a supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger cars, or a straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles, respectively, in which the said overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is engaged with a wiper transporting/supporting shaft 59 in a manner of male-female structure and inserted into a wiper supporter cap 58, which comprises : the supporter bar 4 which supports a roller 47 forming the guide rail groove 47 according to the shape of side-view mirror 3, constitutes an engagement in the male-female manner together with a pair of guide rail 31, is thoroughly fitted into a shaft 31-1 which is also supported by shaft supporter 10-1, and carries out the reciprocating rectilinear motion by going and returning together with the bonded chain belt gear 48; a connecting rod which connects rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 and reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse- rotating gear 43, and changes the rotating motion into the reciprocating rectilinear motion by the reciprocating rotation gear 44-1, 44-2 simultaneously in the chain belt transferring gear 45 and one-side/one-way gear 50 which combines with chain belt gear 48, in which the rotating gear 42 rotates upto 360° by the power provided by motor gear 41 and the reverse-rotating gear 43 rotates upto 180° inside the mirror supporting plate 10 which supports the side view mirror 3 ; a side-view mirror traveling motor 22 which supports the aforementioned constitution by means of connecting supporter plate 27, connected to a side-view mirror traveling supporter 11 by the connecting supporter slot 34, and thereby enables the field of vision to be controlled up, down, left or right according to the height or position of driver' s eye; and a fixture spring 23 for clamping the side view mirror 3 to support the said apparatus without vibration and to promote the easy work for setting.
According to another aspect of the invention, the invention provides the automatic apparatus for removing the raindrops or mist from the side view mirror of automobile, characterized in that the cleansing liquid ejecting nozzle 6 is provided in front of the said side view mirror 3 to keep the surface of mirror clean, and the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 comprising the wiper transporting/supporting shaft 59 inserted into the rectangular tube shape of wiper supporter cap 58 in the manner of male-female combination is provided on the said supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper for a side view mirror 12 in the fixed and replaceable way to support the bar 4, and repeatedly contract and relax according to the action of reciprocating motion to automatically remove the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or contamination from the surface of the side view mirror 3. When classified by the technical constitution for achieving the aforementioned object of invention, the wind .shield glass wiper according to the present invention may be divided into two categories: a singular form of wind shield glass wiper for a side view mirror having a curved surface in case of passenger cars, as shown in Figs. 1 to 7 and Figs. 12 to 15; and an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper for a straight shape of side view mirror in case of huge vehicles, as shown in Figs. 8 to 11. Therefore, the apparatus according to the present invention comprises a various elements such as A, B, C, D and E as shown in Fig. 3 according to the various shapes or forms of side-view mirror 3 in case of passenger cars, and the internal structure of wiper, as shown in Fig. 4, for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface is provided according to the internal structure of side view mirror in case of passenger cars. On the other hand, as shown in Figs. 11a and lib, a straight shape of side view mirror 14 is generally provided in case of huge vehicles, such as bus, cargo truck. Fig. 4 shows a prospective view for the internal structure of the automatic unit, in which an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper is connected to a supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger cars. Thereby, the direction of motion of the wind shield wiper can be controlled left or right, repeatedly. On the other hand, Fig. 8 depicts a prospective view showing the internal structure of the side-view mirror having a straight shape of side view mirror in case of huge vehicles, such as bus or truck. In the straight shape of side view mirror, the movement of wind shield wiper is determined according to chain belt gear 48 which transfers the wiper reciprocally upwards or downwards, and the guide rail 31 or shaft 31-1 which is set according to the shape of mirror. Thereby, the direction of motion of the wind shield wiper can be controlled left or right, repeatedly upwards or downwards, repeatedly. As shown in Figs. 4 or 8, the mirror supporting plate 10 is provided on the back surface of mirror, the front side of which is also provided with the wind shield wiper, which may be a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 for a straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles, such as bus or cargo truck; or an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger cars, respectively. A pair of wiper transferring supporter 4, both ends of which are inserted into wiper fixing supporter 5, can support or fix the singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 or overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1, according to the various width or length of mirror, and be replaced. As mentioned above, the wiper transfer supporter 4 is directly bound to chain belt gear 48 and moves reciprocally left and right according to form and shape of mirror 3. For this, wiper driving motor 21 arranged in mid-section of chain belt gear 48 drives motor gear 41, and passes the driving power to chain belt gear 48, at last. For the purpose of reciprocal movement of wiper 3, a pin 57 is inserted into pin hole 56 in rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 and reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse- rotating gear 43. In other words, a connecting rod 49 is provided between rotating axis 51 and reverse-rotating axis 52, and fixed by washer 53 to change the form of energy from rotating mode to reciprocal mode. Since the supporting column 28 projected from mirror supporting plate 10 as shown in Figs. 4 and 8, and gear supporting plate 26 as shown in Figs. 7b and 9b supports the entire structure of unit, such construction promote the motive power of connecting rod 49. Further, Fig 3 shows that the automatic apparatus 1 for removing the raindrops or mist from the side view mirror of automobile enables the field of vision to be controlled up, down, left or right according to the height or position of driver' s eye, by incorporating the apparatus 1 having element A and B together with a binding groove 34 formed on binding supporter plate 27 and mirror traveling supporter 11, in order for the mirror traveling motor 22 to move freely due to the connection to the mirror traveling motor wiring unit 25. Inside a mirror cap supporter 9, the mirror fixing spring 23 is provided and attached, in order to eliminate the trouble such as protrusion of each mirror from the body of automobile, and to promote the free fixation of mirror without reverse-traveling. According to the invention, the automatic apparatus 1 as mentioned above is supported by side view mirror cap 8 in a form of "half an egg" , for the sake of protection and suppor . Hereinafter, the present invention will be described more detail and for the best mode of embodiment. The side view mirror of passenger' s car in a form of "half an egg" may have the various shape and formation in a view from horizontal plane. The mirror 3 may have various widths, angles and inclinations according each parts or elements, as shown in Figs. 1 to 7c, Figs. 12 to 15, Figs. 3 and 4. Specifically, according to a shape of side view mirror such as a curved or a straight shape, three elements: a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface, guide rail 31 or shaft 31-1, and chain belt gear 48 must be constituted to cooperate for one resulted action. Furthermore, Figs. 8 to lib show the straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles. For this, chain belt gear 48 and guide rail 31 or shaft 31-1 are set according to the drawings, and the chain belt gear 48, the wiper transferring supporter roller 47 connected to the wiper transferring supporter 4, and guide rail 31 is connected by male-female insertion. According to Fig. 5b, the wiper transfer supporter 4 is inserted into- the shaft 31-1 supported by shaft supporter 10-1, and connected to the chain belt gear 48, and inserted into the shaft 31-1 by fitting, in order to provide the reciprocal movement. In the side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger, guide rail 31 having male-female structure, guide rail groove 32 having such form, and chain belt gear 48 is connected to wiper transfer supporter 4, in order to make a transfer action. In the straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles such as bus or cargo truck, the guide rail 31, the shaft 31-1 and chain belt gear 48 is connected to a pair of wiper transfer supporter 4, in order to make a transfer action. If the said three elements do not harmonized into one action, the desired reciprocal movement cannot be achieved. The said wiper transfer supporter 4 as shown in Figs. 4 and 8 combines wiper transfer supporter roller 47 having guide rail groove 32, and guide rail 31. The shaft 31-1 is shaped as shown in Fig. 8. The said wiper transferring supporter 4 is supported by the shaft 31-1 in a loose fit manner. Thus, the wiper transferring supporter 4 is connected to chain belt gear 48 according to Figs. 5a and 5b, so that the wiper can move in left or right direction reciprocally without friction and reverse-traveling.
Moreover, in the wiper for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger cars, or a straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles, the guide rail 31 is bound to the wiper transferring supporter roller 47 in a male-female manner, and the wiper transferring supporter 4 fits to the shaft 31-1, in order to eliminate the friction and reverse-traveling during the continuous movement of the wiper transferring supporter 4, i.e. when the singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 and the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 moves reciprocal ly . As a matter of fact, the side view mirror 3 of passenger cars has a various forms and shapes, and differences in size, length, curve, inclination and angles. In spite of such variety of side view mirror, the possibility of free application of the invention comes from the possible adjustment or regulation of unit as shown in Fig. 5a. The chain belt gear 48 can achieve the harmony of free movement according to a wiper for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface. Thus, if a pair of chain belt gear 48 and wiper transferring supporter 4 are connected with each other, the movement can be controlled by counting the number of tooth, and the exact power for activating the reciprocal movement can transferred therefrom. Therefore, since the wiper transferring supporter 4 can support a singular form of windshield glass wiper 2 or an overlapping form of windshield glass wiper 2-1, and harmonize to the unique structure of the side mirror 3 according to Figs. 10a to 13, the wiper transferring supporter 4 can move reciprocally. As seen from Figs. 4 to 7c, the wiper transferring supporter 4 supports the wiper transferring supporter roller 47 having guide rail groove 32, with roller pin 54, and fit to guide rail 31 in a male-female manner in order to connect to chain belt gear 48. In this way, chain belt gear 48 supports chain belt transferring roller 46, and constantly and continuously moves reciprocally according to the chain belt transferring gear 45 and one-direction gear. 50, without reverse-traveling and secession from chain belt cover 33. In other words, the rotating gear 42 rotates 360° by the driving force provided by the rotating gear motor 41, and the connecting rod 49 is inserted between the reverse- rotating gear 43, which drives 180° in maximum and the reverse-rotating gear 43 changes the driving power of the reciprocal rotating gear 44-1, 44-2, chain belt transferring gear 45 and one-direction gear 50 into the reciprocal rotating movement, and operates together with the wiper transferring supporter 4 in connected state. Resultantly, the side view mirror 3 as set according to Figs. 7c and 9c makes a serial movement, according to the form and shape of mirror, together with chain belt gear 48 and guide rail 31 or shaft 31-1. That is, in the wiper transferring supporter roller 47, the wiper transferring supporter 4 combines with guide rail 31 in the male-female manner, and the shaft 31-1 and the wiper transferring supporter 4 are simultaneously connected to the chain belt gear 48, so that a pair of wiper transferring supporter 4 supports a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 or an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1, and drives the exact reciprocal movement. Furthermore, as seen in Figs. 1 to 7c and Figs. 12 to 15, the side view mirror 12 having a curved surface in case of passenger cars has an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 as shown from Fig. 10a! and a straight shape of side view mirror 14 as seen from Figs. 8, 9, 11a and lib in case of huge vehicles such as bus or cargo truck, has a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 as seen from Fig. 10b which is combined and fixed to a fixed supporter 5 for a pair of wiper transferring supporter 4. According to the invention, an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is used for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface, and a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 is used for a straight shape of side view mirror 14 in case of huge vehicles, so that the raindrops, mist or other contaminations 13 on the area of mirror 3 can be readily removed. An overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 as seen from Fig. 10a comprise the wiper transporting/supporting shaft 59 inserted into the rectangular tube shape of wiper supporter cap 58 in the manner of male-female combination. The overlapping extent of the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is formed as wide as the width and area of the side view mirror 12 having a curved surface. Accordingly, even if the raindrops and mist are dispersed over the area of mirror corresponding to those curved or winded according to the form or shape of side view mirror 3 of passenger' s car, there would be no problem to move the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 and keep the surface of mirror clean. The side view mirror 3 has a certain degree of angle and inclination in case of winding form of mirror 12. As seen from Fig. 13, in the a supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper, both end portions of overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 are fixed to a wiper fixing supporter 5 by the bolt element 60, and thereafter a supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper should not completely be fixed to both end portions of the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1. If a supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper is completely fixed to both end portions of the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1, the supporter bar 4 cannot move freely according to the side view mirror 12 having a curved surface. Therefore, the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 can move reciprocally on the surface of side view mirror 3 without error, and automatically remove the raindrops, mist or contaminations 13 from the side view mirror of automobile, provided that the wiper transporting/supporting shaft 59 is inserted into the rectangular tube shape of wiper supporter cap 58 in the manner of male-female combination. In order to achieve the reciprocal movement of the chain belt gear 48 positioned both sides according to the said constitution, a motor gear 41 of traveling motor 21 is provided in center zone according to Figs. 4 to 8, a rotating axis 51 is provided in rotating gear 42, a reverse- rotating axis 52 is provided in reverse-rotating gear 43, a pin 57 is inserted into pin hole 57 to combine without secession, and a connecting rod 49 is connected between the rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 and the reverse- rotating axis 52 of reverse-rotating gear 43 in order to combine for the good constitution. Furthermore, the washer 53 is provided for smooth rotation. The connecting rod 49 is connected for changing the rotation movement into the reciprocal movement. For this, when the connecting rod 49 is provided between the rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 and the reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse-rotating gear 43, the loose fitness for the connecting rod 49 and the axis 51, 52 is preferable for smooth rotation. Accordingly, the rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 rotates 360° and the reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse- rotating gear 43 rotates 180° in maximum. Even if the connecting rod 49 is provided between the reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse-rotating gear 43, the reverse-rotating gear 43 rotates 180° in maximum according to the degree of inclination and ratio of angle. However, since the angle of 180° is not proper for the driving force and needed some reduction, it is preferably required to set an angle below 180° in order to constitute size, inclination and angle of shape of side view mirror 3 without overdrive. As aforementioned, the wiper traveling motor 21 drives motor gear 41, and the rotating axis 51 of rotating gear 42 rotates the connecting rod in 360° scale. The connecting rod 49 drives reverse-rotating axis 52 of reverse-rotating gear 43 and the reverse-rotating gear 43 rotates 180° in maximum, however the rotating gears 44-1,
44-2, 45, 46, 47, 48, 50 can drive the reciprocal rotating movement in 360° scale. The chain belt gear 48 moves reciprocally over the area of side view mirror according to the shape of side view mirror 12 having a curved surface, or straight shape of side view mirror 14. Since the chain belt gear 48 has the one- direction gear 50, it moves a pair of supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper toward one direction. The supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper supports the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1, and has the same direction when continuing the reciprocal movement. As mentioned, the supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper connected to chain belt gear 48 must be harmonized in the reciprocal movement along the shape of side view mirror 3. In constituting a pair of wiper fixing supporter 5 with the supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper connected to chain belt gear 48, the reciprocal rotating gears 44-1, 44-2, 45, 46, 47, 48, 50 are provided at both ends, and the supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper may be connected to both ends, resulting in the more strong structure. If either of one rotating gears 44-1, 44-2 is provided, i.e. if either one of chain belt gear 48 is used and the overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is supported by the wiper fixing supporter 5 with the supporter bar 4 transferring the wiper for reciprocal movement, the smooth reciprocal movement is not possible along the side view mirror 12 having a curved surface. Therefore, if the chain belt gear 48 is equipped at both ends of mirror supporter plate 10, the wiper can be provided to fit the form and shape of the side view mirror 3. Moreover, an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 is set up for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface, and a pair of supporter bar 4 is driven by a pair of chain belt gear 48 with an exact power, in order to achieve safe and reciprocal movement of wiper along the shape of side view mirror 12 for removing raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 from side view mirror of automobile. According to the constructions as described above, the various shapes and formations of side-view mirror of automobile depends on the parameters such as inclination, angle, width, length and area of the mirror, and the velocity and frequency of windshield wiper to clean the surface of mirror depends on the control means for precisely regulating the ratio of the numbers, size, length etc. of the rotating gears 41,42,43,44-1,44-2,45,46,48,50, in order to constitute the each parameter to cooperate for the harmonious action of windshield wiper having the proper size, shape and velocity. Although the cooperative action of each elements is precise but the inclinations in the direction upwards and downwards, the angles and lengths are different from each other not to be able to perform the reciprocal movement, however, the continuous and complete cleaning/remove effect of contaminations from the surface of mirror cannot be achieved. In order to solve this problem, the adoption of overlapping form of the wind-shield glass wiper 2-1 as depicted in Figs.10a and 10b enables the reciprocal movement of windshield wiper over the full area of the side view mirror 12 to remove the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 from side view mirror of automobile. Therefore, each of the side view mirror 12 of the side view mirrors 3, the guide rail 31 and the chain belt gear 48 can be connected and cooperate to remove the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 from side view mirror of automobile. As described above, the wiper transporting/supporting shaft 59 is inserted into the rectangular tube shape of wiper supporter cap 58 in the manner of male-female combination, in order to be able to relax or contract during the reciprocal movement, to cover the full width of mirror according to the singular form of the wind shield glass wiper 2 and the overlapping form of wind-shield glass wiper 2-1 for a curve-surf ced side view mirror 12 of side view mirrors 3. Hereinafter, a process for removing the raindrops and mist from side view mirror by use of the automatic apparatus according to the present invention will be described as fol lows . When the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 are formed on the side view mirror of automobile under the circumstance as seen from Figs. 11a to Fig. 15, especially Fig. 14, during driving car having the automatic apparatus according to the present invention, the automatic apparatus according to the invention can be driven by power ing-on the predetermined indoor elements, to drive the cleanser hose 7 and the wiper-driving motor wiring 24, in order for the singular form of wind shield glass^ wiper 2 and the overlapping form of wind-shield glass wiper 2-1 to automatically perform the reciprocal action for removing the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 from the mirror. In this stage, a singular form of wind shield glass wiper 2 for a side view mirror 12 having a curved surface or an overlapping form of wind shield glass wiper 2-1 for a straight shape of side view mirror 14, which is be held in a predetermined wiper cover 55 as seen from Figs. 11a to 14, can be driven by power ing-on the predetermined indoor elements, to clean the surface of mirror by the reciprocal movement, and again, can be held in the wiper cover 55. Furthermore, even in a case that the raindrops, polka dots, mist and/or other contaminations 13 are adhered on the surface of mirror and not cleaned completely, the side view mirror 3 can be kept clean by ejecting the cleanser from the ejection nozzle 6 through cleanser hose 7 which is provided in the singular form of the wind shield glass wiper 2 and the overlapping form of wind-shield glass wiper 2-1 for a curve- surfaced side view mirror 12 of side view mirrors 3 according to the present invention.
