Abstract

Disclosed is a method for using addressing of type anycast or an equivalent thereof for client/server-type communications without having to implement specific program functions in the server or the client station. According to the inventive method, a mechanism is implemented in the intermediate network nodes located on the path between the client stations (H) and the servers (AS2, AS3), said mechanism translating the address at the level of the network layers on an edge of the network.
