Abstract

An improved system for resolution of collisions in peer to peer mobile communication systems, particularly systems that implement DIIS. A mobile that has control of a channel for transmission purposes releases it on detecting a possible collision on the channel. A mobile unit not in control of the channel may warn the controlling unit on detecting a possible collision on the channel. The collision may be detected in various ways, in any domain, including detection of an announcement on the channel by another unit and detection of non-decodable activity on the channel.
