Abstract

A method for controlling transmissions from a remote unit in a time division multiple access system is provided. The method includes monitoring transmissions from the remote unit at a base station, generating commands for distributing probes in at least one subsequent transmission from the remote unit based on the monitored transmissions, and transmitting the commands to the remote unit for the at least one subsequent transmission.
