Abstract

La présente invention concerne, de manière générale, un dispositif multimédia à plusieurs platines, monobloc, et qui est transparent pour l'utilisateur en termes d'interconnexion, de commande, de routage du signal, de gestion des contenus multimédia et analogues. Par exemple, selon un aspect de la présente invention, le dispositif multimédia permet, entre autres fonctions, de visualiser, d'écouter, de rechercher et d'extraire des informations multimédia tout en offrant simultanément la possibilité d'enregistrer et/ou de stocker d'autres contenus multimédia, et ce par l'intermédiaire d'une seule interface utilisateur. En outre, hormis la suite du descriptif de l'invention, qui concerne un magnétoscope ou un lecteur DVD double, selon certains autres modes de réalisation de l'invention, le dispositif multimédia peut comporter d'autres sources de systèmes de diffusion de contenus multimédia. Par exemple, il peut être équipé de divers systèmes analogiques et/ou numériques, notamment des lecteurs de disque dur, des bandes magnétiques, et autres supports optiques, des mémoires à semiconducteurs et autres supports fixes ou amovibles. Ainsi, le dispositif multimédia selon l'invention peut comporter une pluralité quelconque de platines.
