Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif (62) de mémoire à supports utilisant un procédé de partitionnement dynamique pour stocker des données sur des supports (80) situés dans le dispositif de mémoire à supports. Le dispositif (62) de mémoire à supports stocke un premier type ou groupe de données (116-120) sur les supports (80) à des adresses croissantes à partir de l'adresse la plus basse de la partition. Les emplacements des premier et deuxième pointeurs changent de manière dynamique à mesure que des données sont stockées sur les supports (80). Un pointeur de partition est maintenu entre les premier et deuxième pointeurs. De préférence, le premier type de données correspond à des données audio/vidéo, et le deuxième type de données à d'autres données. Les données audio/vidéo sont de préférence stockées à des adresses contiguës. Le dispositif (62) de stockage à supports est de préférence un dispositif autonome ; mais dans une autre forme de réalisation, il est résident d'un autre dispositif. A mesure que des fichiers ou des pistes du premier type de données sont supprimés, le dispositif de stockage à supports produit des partitions secondaires dans les zones dans lesquelles des données ont été supprimées. Dans les partitions secondaires, les deux types de données peuvent être stockés, et des pointeurs de partition secondaires sont également maintenus.
