In this case, subscriber entries are stored in a storage device, which is usually contained in the mobile radio telephone, and as a rule contain a subscriber name and the telephone number assigned to this subscriber.

In particular when using mobile telephones in business, there is a desire to store as many subscriber entries as possible in the electronic telephone book and to select the number of a desired subscriber simply and reliably if required. In the case of known mobile telephones of this type, this hinders the fact that, particularly in business, for example at a trade fair, you come into contact with a large number of different people, with which name and telephone number are exchanged, but the names cannot be remembered.

The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a communication terminal which enables a telephone number assigned to a subscriber to be found quickly, easily and reliably in an electronic telephone book.

This object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous and expedient further developments result from the dependent claims. The invention is therefore based on the idea of providing, in addition to a subscriber memory for storing subscriber entries, a graphics memory in a communication terminal in order to store subscriber-specific graphics to which corresponding subscriber entries are assigned.

The subscriber memory can be, for example, conventional electronic telephone books. The term “graphic” is also understood to mean symbols or images, in particular photo-realistic images of the participant to whom this graphic is assigned.

The advantages associated with the innovation lie primarily in the fact that, for example, a sequential representation of the graphics associated with the subscriber entries enables the correct, correct and correct selection of the correct telephone number from a telephone book. The invention is therefore based on the knowledge that, instead of the name, usually only one image remains in the memory of a person.

The invention is described in more detail below on the basis of preferred exemplary embodiments, the features contained therein also being able to be encompassed by the invention in other combinations. FIG. 1 serves to explain these exemplary embodiments, which shows a simplified block diagram of an embodiment variant of a communication terminal according to the invention.

The communication terminal KE has an operating device MMI, which can contain a keyboard and a display device, such as a graphic display DPL. To control this operating device MMI, a program-controlled processor device PE, such as a microcontroller, is provided, which can also include a processor CPU and a memory device SPE. A special embodiment of the invention provides that data from the electronic telephone book is at least partially stored on an exchangeable memory card or chip card, such as a subscriber identification module SIM. 1. Communication terminal (KE) with

- a subscriber memory (SPE) for storing subscriber entries, and
