Abstract

The invention concerns a system for the showroom display of audio-visual recording media such as compact discs, CD-ROM's, video or audio cassettes, comprising first means for packing said recording media, optionally second means for overpacking the packages to prevent the articles from being stolen and third means for storing articles. The invention is characterised in that at least one of the first two means incorporates a circuit for memorising and reproducing a sound (9) and/or visual sequence on a display screen (40).

Description

System for presenting audiovisual recording media at the point of sale, packaging boxes and anti-theft boxes implemented. The present invention relates to the field of presentation at the point of sale of audiovisual articles such as compact discs. , CD-ROMs, video tapes or audio tapes, DAT tapes or all equivalent products. In the prior art, these articles are packaged in boxes, generally made of plastic, sealed with a sheet of Cellophane. In some cases, these items are protected against shoplifting by anti-theft boxes formed by overpacks removed at the time of payment for the item. These anti-theft boxes have a magnetic, magneto-acoustic or electromagnetic label on one of the interior faces, triggering an alarm in the event of an attempt to conceal, when passing near control terminals located at the outlet of the point of sale.

These articles are presented on storage furniture. In some cases, these pieces of furniture include a reader and a headset allowing customers to listen to the article that is presented.

This equipment according to the state of the art is not completely satisfactory. Listening from headphones or a loudspeaker listening point can only present the content of a reduced number of articles presented. In addition, only a relatively small number of customers can simultaneously listen to a sample of music, the number of headsets and listening points not being unlimited.

Furthermore, in mass distribution, these products are generally presented vertically, on supports allowing the "flaky" of products presented. It is usual to provide intermediate elements making it possible to separate two consecutive series of products, for example the products corresponding to a first singer and the products corresponding to a second singer.

It appeared that the sale of products from which the client can listen to some extracts are clearly better than the sales of non-audible products.

It has been proposed in the prior art to have "listening points" at the point of sale comprising one or more disc or cassette players, and command buttons allowing a customer to select extracts from a product for sale, and listen to these extracts using an individual headset.

These solutions are not entirely satisfactory, because they only allow listening to a reduced number of products, and this to a limited number of customers. In addition, these listening points represent high investments and require permanent maintenance, in particular to exchange the discs or cassettes of the player, as well as the corresponding signage.

It has also been proposed to integrate into the housing of the audiovisual product means for storing sound sequences, and means for restitution by a transducer housed in the packaging of the product.

This solution increases the number of audible products, but results in a high unit cost.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a system making it possible to multiply the number of products audible by the customer, with a low investment. The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing improved equipment.

For this, the invention comprises in its most general embodiment a system of presentation at the point of sale of audiovisual recording media such as compact discs, CD-ROMs, video cassettes or audio cassettes, of the type comprising first means for packaging said recording media, optionally second means for overpacking the packages in order to prevent theft of the articles and third means for storing the articles characterized in that at least one of the first two means incorporate a circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound and / or visual sequence.

Advantageously, the third means has a sensor capable of cooperating with a transmission means integrated in the storage and reproduction circuit incorporated in one of said first two means, said sensor being connected to an amplification circuit for reproducing the sound and / or visual sequence by a loudspeaker integrated in the third means. This realization makes it possible to offer the choice between an individual listening, of low level, or an amplified listening using more powerful amplifiers because not subjected to constraints of electrical consumption of the furniture constituting the third element of the equipment . Preferably, the sensor consists of a coil allowing an electromagnetic coupling with the memorization and reproduction circuit provided in one of the first two means.

According to a first alternative embodiment, the circuit for reproducing the sound sequence and / or visual is integrated in the packaging box of the audiovisual recording medium.

Advantageously, the housing incorporates an electronic circuit comprising a memory for memorizing a digitized sound and / or visual sequence, a circuit for reproducing and amplifying said digitized sound and / or visual sequence, a power supply battery and an acoustic transducer, as well as a switch for actuation actuated by a pressure on one of the faces of the housing. Optionally, the contactor also allows the passage to successive sound ranges selected by repeated pressures.

According to a second alternative embodiment, the circuit for reproducing the sound sequence is integrated in an anti-theft protection box having a lockable housing for receiving a package of the audiovisual recording medium.

According to a particular embodiment, certain anti-theft boxes have a projecting part serving as separators in an alignment of boxes.

The invention also relates to an anti-theft case for an equipment according to at least one of the preceding claims, of the type formed by a rigid envelope having an opening for the introduction of an audiovisual article such as a compact disc, CD. -ROM, cassettes, means for locking this article in said envelope and on one of the inner faces a label capable of triggering an alarm, characterized in that said housing incorporates a circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence.

Advantageously, the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence comprises a random access memory connected to a connector provided on the surface. outside the box for recording in said memory a sound sequence digitized from an outside source.

Preferably, the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence comprises a rechargeable power supply connected to a connector provided on the exterior surface of the housing.

According to a variant, the anti-theft box has a protruding part forming a separator when several boxes are aligned, this separator comprising a housing for the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence.

According to another variant, the packaging box or the anti-theft box further comprises a screen, in particular a flat screen with liquid crystal technology (LCD) for viewing textual or graphic information or digitized videos recorded in the circuit memory. integrated in the housing. The invention also relates to a box for packaging audiovisual articles such as a compact disc, CD-ROM, cassettes, for equipment according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it incorporates a circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence, as well as furniture for the presentation at the point of sale of audiovisual articles, for equipment conforming to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a sensor for receiving the electromagnetic signal emitted by a packaging box and / or an anti-theft box comprising a circuit for reproducing the sound sequence provided with a radiating element.

Figure 1 shows a sectional view of an embodiment of a housing according to the invention. In the example described, this is a compact disc packaging (1). The compact disc (1) is packaged in a known manner in a transparent plastic case (2) formed by two shells articulated by a side hinge, the case being sealed in an outer envelope (3) made of Cellophane. The face main of the case reveals a jacquette

(4). Inside the housing (2) is placed a plate

(5) having in its center radial fins (6) for centering the compact disc (1), extending a cylindrical protuberance (7) whose upper surface forms a bearing surface for the disc. This protuberance delimits a hollow space (8) of cylindrical shape used to house a circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence (9). This circuit (9) comprises a printed circuit (10) on which is welded, on one of its faces, a piezoelectric transducer (11) actuating a membrane (12), for example of aluminum, for transmitting the electrical energy in audible signal. The other face of the printed circuit (10) supports electronic components, in particular an integrated circuit (13). This integrated circuit is advantageously produced in the form of an ASIC encapsulated with the other components in a resin, to form a block with a diameter and a height compatible with the dimensions of the protuberance (7). A cylindrical battery or accumulator (14) is placed above the circuit (13). A connecting wire connects the pole formed by the underside to the printed circuit (10). the end (15) of a rigid metal tab is positioned at rest a short distance from the upper surface of the stack (14). the other end of this blade is soldered to the printed circuit (10). Contact is established by means of a stud (16) which at rest is pushed back by said blade (15). When the user applies pressure to the center of the upper face of the housing (1), the stud (16) presses the end (15) of the blade on the upper surface of the stack (14), and thus establishes a electrical contact ensuring the supply of the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence (9). The case (1) is protected by an anti-theft case (19) of known type.

An alternative embodiment consists in installing the components of the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence (9) on a larger, substantially square printed circuit, which is housed under the plate (5). The components in this case are housed in the cavities present on this plate, generally at the corners of the plate. The contact is established using a contactor soldered on the printed circuit, the actuation button of this contactor protruding through the central hole of the compact disc and being able to be actuated by a pressure on the front face of the case which is elastically deformable. The battery (14) can be connected to an electric coil allowing induction charging.

FIG. 2 represents the block diagram of an exemplary embodiment of the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence. This circuit comprises a rewritable memory (20) of 128 kilobytes and a digital / analog converter (21) whose output is connected to an operational amplifier (22) delivering an output signal to a piezoelectric transducer (23). A clock (24) delivers a timing signal to the memory (20) and the A / D converter (21). The power supply is provided by a battery (14) and a switch that can be actuated from outside the housing, for example by pressing on the upper face of the housing.

FIG. 3 represents an anti-theft box according to the invention. This case has, in a known manner, a rigid envelope (27) comprising an insertion slot (28) for the article to be protected. The main faces are perforated to present windows (29) revealing the jacket of the article protected. A lock (30) closes, in the embodiment described, the insertion slot (28). This lock is unlocked using a specific _tool. for example a magnet, acting on a magnetic barrel or on a blocking blade.

This housing has a housing (31) for the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence (9). In the example described, the rigid envelope (27) is extended to the upper face by a projecting part (32) forming a separator. This protruding part marks, in a case alignment, the start of a new category, for example of a new singer, or of a new musical genre. This projecting part (32) presents textual (33) or graphic information. It can also include information in relief (34), in particular indications in Braille allowing the blind to identify the product. In the example of embodiment described concerning an anti-theft unit having in addition a separator function, the pad (35) actuated by the piezoelectric transducer is placed on the projecting part (32). A contactor accessible from the outside enables the reproduction of a sound sequence. The anti-theft case also has, on one of the surfaces (36) accessible from the outside, a first connector for recharging the supply battery. This connector may consist of two metal parts flush with the surface, or any other connector known for the transmission of electrical energy. Charging can also be carried out as indicated above by inductive torque, using an electric coil included in the housing (32). A second connector (50) may be present on one of the surfaces of the housing, to allow recording in the RAM of the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence of a new sequence. This connector is also constituted by flush contacts or by any other known connector for the transmission of low energy digital signals. Optionally the two connectors can be combined into a multifunction socket. Another solution making it possible to avoid the use of electrical connectors consists in equipping the circuit with electromagnetic coupling coils making it possible to record digital information in the memory by induction.

The use of the device is as follows: the box comprising the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence, whether it is the packaging box or the anti-theft box, is placed on the shelf. The customer wishing to listen to an audio extract places the box close to his ear. It presses on the ad-hoc zone, ie the surface of the packaging box in the example described in relation to FIG. 1, or on the contactor for the example represented in FIG. 3, which triggers the reproduction of the sequence memorized sound, audible thanks to the transducer provided on the box. The manager of the department can recharge the battery by placing the case in a suitable charger. It can also, in particular for the version where the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence is placed in the anti-theft unit, record a new sound sequence. This sequence can be recorded directly from the corresponding audiovisual medium, using an ad-hoc reader and equipment for digitizing and recording the chosen sequence in the random access memory of the storage and reproduction of a sound sequence via the connector provided for this purpose.

An alternative is to load the sequence from _. a dedicated server containing the preprogrammed sequences. The choice of the sequence can be automated by a bar code reader (39) or any other equivalent marking means, affixed to the label of the housing. According to a preferred variant, the bar code used for coding the sequence to be recorded in the memory is that appearing on the jacket of the compact disc or of the corresponding recording medium.

The invention also relates to furniture for the presentation of audiovisual products comprising a circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence (9) of the type described above. This furniture comprises in an exemplary embodiment a marked area corresponding to the location of an electric coil. This coil constitutes a sensor making it possible to pick up the signal emitted by the radiating element of the circuit of memorization and reproduction of a sound sequence. This sensor delivers an electrical signal which is then amplified to allow diffusion by speakers fitted to the presentation furniture. It is thus possible for people wishing to listen to the sound sequence in more comfortable conditions to approach the case of the disc which interests them of the zone identified, and to benefit from the amplified listening and not only from the listening of low level sound by means of the sound transducer integrated in the circuit for memorizing and reproducing a sound sequence. This listening system will be all the more useful when the box has an LCD screen on its front face. Optionally, a light emitting diode attracts the use of the barge.

Figure 4 shows one. anti-theft unit according to an alternative embodiment of the invention. The anti-theft box (50) encloses, as before, a compact disc box (51), and is positioned on a display unit comprising a rail (52) ensuring the positioning of the articles and also the electrical supply of the electronic circuits integrated in the box. anti-theft device, or, in an equivalent embodiment, in the compact disc case.

This rail comprises two conductive tracks (53, 54) supplied with direct current. The housing is provided with contact pads (55, 56) coming into contact with the conductive tracks (53, 54). These pads are connected to the electronic circuit by connecting wires in a known manner.

FIG. 5 represents the block diagram of a circuit for an anti-theft box according to the invention. This is an alternative embodiment in which the electrical supply is made by a piezoelectric generator (60) supplying an electric current under the effect of a pressure exerted on one of its faces. This piezoelectric generator is connected to an electric accumulator or to a capacitor (61) formed by a capacitor. This supply can replace the supply with an electric battery, or supplement such a supply. In the latter case, the piezoelectric generator is used to recharge the electric battery. In the example described, the circuit further comprises a digital image reproduction circuit (63) connected to a display screen (64). The piezoelectric element is actuated by a button flush with the surface of the housing, or directly by deformation of the surface of the housing. The following description relates to alternative embodiments.

FIG. 6 represents one of the listening unit (101) according to the invention. It consists of a plastic casing (101) of a dimension slightly greater than the dimension of an audio product., In this case a compact disc package (102).

The listening box (101) allows the insertion of a compact disc, the front face of which remains visible. To this end, the front face of the listening box (101) has a cutout of a dimension slightly smaller than the dimensions of the front face of the compact disc packaging, to prevent unauthorized removal of the latter. The introduction of the compact disc in the listening box (101) is done either by the front face, under by a side face. Locking means are provided to prevent removal of the compact disc by an unauthorized person. It can be a locking means with a magnetic blade or a magnetic flyweight usually used for the production of anti-theft boxes.

The listening unit (101) has an extension (103) allowing on the one hand to affix a signage and to separate into consecutive series of articles presented, and on the other hand to house the electronic circuits (104) for memorization of a sound sequence.

In the example described, the box (101) also includes a loudspeaker (105) and control buttons (106, 107) for initiating listening, and for advancing or reversing the sequence being listened to.

The housing (101) fulfills a first function of separator. When this case is removed by a customer, he can place it close to his ear and trigger listening. The electronic circuit (103) can also be connected to an electric coil making it possible to couple the audio signals. to an additional coil provided in a fixed listening station, which may include a better quality amplifier, for example a stereo amplifier connected to two good quality loudspeakers or loudspeakers.

A particular embodiment consists in addition providing a flat screen, for example a liquid crystal screen, for the representation of a video sequence. Memorized in the electronic circuit integrated in the box. This screen allows the presentation of extracts from a game or a video. A variant consists in equipping the listening points with an infrared transmission means, for example an infrared diode, for the remote transmission of the sound signals to a sound reproduction station.

The listening unit (101) also comprises an anti-theft detection means, for example a magnetic or electromagnetic marking triggering an alarm signal at the passage of a control point.

The electronic circuits are powered by a rechargeable battery. To this end, the listening unit (101) has on its lower face two conductive strips (108, 109) connected to the batteries. When the housing (101) is placed on conductive rails, these conductive strips (108, 109) ensure the recharging of the batteries.

FIG. 7 represents a view in longitudinal section of the presentation system according to the invention. Audio products. (102) are arranged in a support formed by the juxtaposition of a plurality of dividers (111 to 115) crossed by conductive rails (110). The separators (111 to 115) are constituted, in the example described, by profiles having a projecting strip (118) whose cross section is substantially trapezoidal to facilitate "flipping" of the products presented. On the lower surface, the separators have lugs (119, 120) making it possible to adjust the spacing between two consecutive projecting strips (118), and to adapt this spacing to the thickness of the products presented.

The conductor rails (110) are formed by brass rods ensuring both the function of supplying the batteries of the listening boxes (101) via their conductive strips, and of connecting the separators (111 to 115 ). These conductor rails (110) can be cut to the appropriate length for adapting the support to the presentation furniture. The rails (110) are flush with the lower surface of the support, in order to supply the listening unit (101). A facade element (116) has an oblique surface for affixing a label (121). The support will advantageously include a front facade element and a rear facade element. The rear panel element hides and protects the connections, in particular the electrical connection between the power cable and the conductive rails (110).

The listening boxes (101) are arranged on this same support, to ensure the separation of two consecutive series of products (102). The listening boxes (101) have a label (117) for the signage of the following products.

Figures 3 and 4 show top views of the supports in two spacing configurations.

The separators (111 to 115) have an asymmetry with respect to the median axis.

One of the faces has alternating projecting lugs (130, 131, 142, 143) while the other face has complementary hollows (140, 141, 132, 133).

In the configuration shown in the figure

Figure 10 shows a cross-sectional view of the presentation system. The separators (111 to 114) are crossed by the conductive rods

(110). They are placed in a drawer (150) having lateral faces (151) ensuring the lateral positioning of the products presented and the listening boxes.

Figure 11 shows a perspective view of a rendering station. It consists of a housing (160) having a slot (161) and a speaker (163). The listening box (101) is inserted into the slot (161). The electromagnetic coupling between the coil provided in the listening unit (101) and the additional coil provided in the housing (160) ensures the transmission of the signals and allows the sound reproduction by the housing (160).

Figure 12 shows a perspective view of a recording station. It consists of a compact disc player (170) in which the disc corresponding to the listening box (101) is placed. The listening box (101) is placed in a slot in the base of the recorder. A coil ensures the coupling with an additional coil provided in the listening box (101). Signal transmission between the CD player. and the listening unit (101) allows the storage of the sound sequences to be reproduced.

Alternatively, the transmission of signals between the CD player. and the listening unit is effected by means of a connector situated on one of the faces of the housing, for example the underside, between the two conductive strips. Additional connectors will be provided on the CD player.

The CD player. will also include in a specific embodiment unlocking means allowing the removal of the CD. when inserting the monitoring unit into the recorder housing.

FIG. 9 shows an alternative embodiment of the listening unit (101). The case has on the front face a cutout (180) of a dimension slightly smaller than the dimension of the front face of the CD. (102). The lateral edges (181, 82) are the lateral faces of the housing (102), in order to avoid lateral excess thicknesses.

The lower part of the listening box (101) has a transverse strip (183). Likewise, the upper part has a transverse strip (184).

The CD case is inserted by sliding the upper edge under the upper transverse strip (184). The housing (102) can then be tilted in the housing delimited by the lateral edges (181, 82) of the listening housing (101).

The positioning is completed by moving the CD until it comes into contact with the lower edge (185). It is then blocked by the two transverse bands (183 and 84). One or more locks prevent the CD from moving to the top of the listening box (101), except when unlocked with an appropriate tool.

The invention is described in the foregoing by way of nonlimiting example. Those skilled in the art will be able to produce various variants without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims

1 - Point-of-sale presentation system for audiovisual recording media such as compact discs, CD-ROMs, video cassettes or audio cassettes, of the type comprising first means for packaging said recording media , optionally second means for overwrapping the packages with a view to preventing the theft of the articles and third means for storing the articles characterized in that at least one of the first two means incorporates a circuit for storing and reproducing d 'a sound sequence

3 - Presentation system according to claim 2 characterized in that the sensor is constituted by a coil allowing electromagnetic coupling with the storage and reproduction circuit provided in one of the first two means.

4 - Presentation system according to any one of the preceding claims characterized in that the circuit for reproducing the sequence sound and/or visual is integrated into the packaging box of the audiovisual recording medium.

5 - Presentation system according to claim 4 characterized in that the housing incorporates an electronic circuit comprising a memory for storing a digitized sound and/or visual sequence, a reproduction and amplification circuit of said sound sequence and/ or digitized visual, an electrical power battery and an acoustic transducer, as well as an activation switch actuated by pressure on one of the faces of the housing.

6 Presentation system according to any one of claims 1 to 4 characterized in that the circuit for reproducing the sound and/or visual sequence is integrated in an anti-theft protection box having a lockable housing for receiving packaging from the support audiovisual recording, this presentation system has appropriate spacing in order to be able to integrate a magneto-acoustic, magnetic or electromagnetic type detection label.
