Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of protection against the counterfeiting of banknotes, titles and documents, and may be used to increase the protection level against said counterfeiting while providing a protection system that is easy to implement. The present system uses marks which are integrated during the production process of titles, documents and more particularly banknotes. The method for protection against counterfeiting comprises integrating said marks to the material of the item to be protected, wherein said marks are made in the shape of a strip or a thread comprising osmium 187 or a compound thereof.
