Abstract

The invention relates to alarm systems, particularly those button tag systems employed in shops as part of an Electronic Article/Surveillance system, using a propellant-powered siren. To reduce the possibility of the tag button being unlawfully removed without some indication, the invention proposes the use, as the head of the stem (58) securing the tag button (501) to the article, of a miniature aerosol-driven siren alarm device triggered into operation by attempts to remove the button by pulling the stem. In connection with this idea, which requires a small siren alarm actuated by pulling the stem, the means by using which the pulling force applied to the stem (58) of the button securing means is delivered to one side of a see-saw-pivoted lever (57) the other side of a see-sow-pivoted lever (57) the other side of which provides a corresponding pushing force which can be applied to the aerosol propellant container/siren mechanism combination (50) in such a way to release some propellant and cause the operation of the Siren.
