Abstract

Ribonucleases (RNases) are highly active, easily used and extremely stable enzymes. Together with detergents, RNases deactivate and destroy irreversible RNA viruses. Agents containing RNase(s) and detergents are therefore suitable for disinfecting instruments, clothing and surfaces from contaminating RNA viruses. Special application forms for coating the skin surfaces of human beings, animals or plants reduce the risk of infection from RNA viruses. Agents with RNases and detergents, possibly combined with substances, may be regarded as 'anti-infectives against RNA viruses (=aiRVi).

Description

Biochemische Inaktivierung von RNA-Viren.Biochemical inactivation of RNA viruses.
RNases quickly and irreversibly inactivate RNA viruses in conjunction with surfactants (= detergents). Mixtures of RNases & detergents (agents with RNases) as a base together with the substance mixtures described below can be described as anti-infectives against RNA viruses (alRVh):
Agents with RNases can be combined with a wide variety of conventional substances (theoretically in all conceivable physical states and mixture types) for cleaning, disinfection or personal care or used as new optimized reagents in various combinations with new formulations.
Agents with RNases are suitable for disinfecting objects, such as equipment and clothing, from contaminating RNA viruses.
Agents with RNases applied to objects and especially to the skin surfaces, including mucous membranes, are suitable for protecting humans and / or animals from pathogenic RNA viruses.
Agents with RNases can also be used to control RNA viruses in crop protection.
The use of agents with RNases, combined with other substance mixtures as needed, therefore serves to prevent (prevent) diseases caused by RNA viruses. This role can be described as anti-infectives against RNA viruses (aiRVi). This is independent of disease-treating (therapeutic) measures that are only used after infestation by pathogens.

- Stabilität: hitzestabil (volle Aktivität auch nach kochen!) und trockenstabil- Stability: heat stable (full activity even after cooking!) And dry stable
SLS= Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). c1) Effekt von RNase und Detergentien aul RNA-Viren:- Activity: little influenced by pH (5-8 optimal), salt concentrations (0.3 mol / I NaCI Optimum) and detergents (e.g. SLS = Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). c 1 ) Effect of RNase and Detergents on RNA Viruses:
Gewisse RNA-Viren besitzen auch eine Membranhülle bestehend aus Lipiden und Proteinen.- RNA viruses are built from their genetic material RNA and a scaffold (= capsid) made of proteins. Certain RNA viruses also have a membrane envelope consisting of lipids and proteins.
As anti-infectious gene RNA viruses (aiRN / i) such agents act to have RNA-virus inactivating effects: detergents (= surfactants = amphiphiic compounds) dissolve the membrane shell and break open the scaffold, then RNases decompose (hydrolize) the genetic material of the RNA viruses, which leads to a complete destruction of the RNA vir. This completely eliminates not only the ability of the organism to absorb, but also any potential for multiplication of the RNA viruses. Detergents alone can also reduce the infectivity of RNA viruses to a certain extent. The novel destruction of the genetic material RNA by means of RNases for complete inactivation is of particular importance, since it has recently been shown experimentally that, for example, Polio Vir alone can multiply with its RNA in intact or even in dissolved cells (Science News, Vol.140, p.390, 1991).

At least one RNase (e.g. RNaseA) and a detergent (e.g. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) are required for cleaning and disinfection. It is known from basic research that RNases work effectively under various conditions.
