Le procédé de compensation de distorsion consiste en la transmission d'un signal supplémentaire faisant partie d'un signal de télévision composite, destiné à former pendant le décodage un signal compensant les distorsions apparaissant au cours de la reproduction de l'image de l'objet mobile dans l'image en cours, ainsi qu'un signal auxiliaire nécessaire à la séparation du signal supplémentaire pendant le décodage. Du côté réception des signaux de correction sont formés à partir du signal supplémentaire. Un dispositif se trouvant du côté transmission comprend un générateur (1) de fréquence sous-porteuse supplémentaire, un filtre basse fréquence (2), une unité (5) destinée à retarder le signal du temps de l'image en cours, connectée au filtre (2), une unité (7) destinée à produire la différence des signaux de lignes analogues d'images avoisinantes, connectée au filtre (2) ainsi qu'à l'unité de temporisation (5), une unité (10) produisant une structure de signal supplémentaire connectée à l'unité (7), une unité (11) destinée à produire un signal réflexe-en-quadrature supplémentaire modulé, connectée à l'unité (10), une unité (14) destinée à moduler la fréquence sous-porteuse supplémentaire à l'aide du signal supplémentaire, laquelle est connectée à l'unité (11) et au générateur, un commutateur (17) de signal supplémentaire connecté à l'unité (14), une unité (18) utilisée pour commander le commutateur (17) ainsi qu'un circuit destiné à produire un signal auxiliaire.
