DESIGN FOR A COMBINED INKSTAND AND PEN-RACK The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the sama.
To all whom fit 'ma-y concern:
Be 'it known that I, HENRY WHITNEY, ot East Cambridge, in the county of' Middlesex, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new Design for a Combined Inkstand and Pen-Rack, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of my design.
My invention has for its object to produce an ornamental and unique design for en inkstand and penrack, and consists in a dome-shaped receptacle, from the top of which rises a pair of notched standards, forming a pen-rack, a recess being formed in the side of the said receptacle, in which to place a dipping-cup.
To enable others skilled in the art to understand and use my invention, I will proceed to descn'be the manner in which I have carried it ont.
In the said drawingsv A represents a hollow dome, which is intended as an inkstand, in which is formed a recess, B, provided with an orice, which serves as a dipping-cup, the latter being provided with a cap or cover, a..
The exterior of the dome, from its central highest point down to a. bead, b, at its base, is composed of a series of lntcd surfaces, c, crossed by a pair of upright. standards, O, in which is formed a series of notches, d, which serve as a rack to support pens or pencils.
