DESIGN FOR A DOOR 0R COVER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,021, dated May 4, 1897.
Application filed March 19, 1897. Serial No. 628,352. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ELLA CONNELL SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Safety Balcony- Doors; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The annexed drawings, to which reference is made, fully illustrate my invention or design, in which Figure 1 represents a plan view of my design, Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a vertical transverse sectional view of the same, these three figures or views being deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists of the raised central portion, at the apex of which is a cap-plate, connecting inclined bars which connect with horizontal and transverse bars, that are plainly shown when viewed as in Fig. 1 of the annexed drawings.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the design for balcon y-doors or doors for openings in floors, the general outline or contour of which presents a frame composed of bars a a Z) I), the former being the longitudinal bars and the latter the end transverse bars. The sides and ends of this cover or door presents inclined surfaces 0 c (I (I when viewed in longitudinal section as Well as transverse section, as shown in Figs. 52 and 3 of the drawings. These inclined surfaces extend from the rectangularframe upwardly and inwardly, terminating at the point e of the apex of the door.
W'hat I claim is The design for doors or covers for openings in floors as herein shown and described.
