Be it known that I, ALLIsoN H. FLEMING), a citizen of the United States, residing at Fairmont, in the county of Marion and State of `West Virginia, have invented a new and useful Razor-Blade Clamp, of which the following is 'a specification. c
This invention has reference to improveinents in holders for safety razor blades and its object is to provide a holder forsuch type of razor blades whereby the blades may be honed or stropped the-holder being such as to present the edge vof the bladeA at thev proper angle to the sharpening surface.

Referring to the drawings there is shown in Fig. 1 a holder 1 constructed in accordance with the present invention and before being folded on itself to form two opposed elastic members 2-3 designed to clasp and hold the razor blades, one of which latter is shown at 4 in Fig. 2, the razor blade shown being of a known double' edge type with spaced perforations 5 extending therethrough. The member 2 of the holder has spaced perforations 6 designed to match the -perforations 5 of the blade 4 and 4at an intermediate oint this holder is formed with a longitudinal. slit'l designed to impart elasticity to the holder when the members 2 and 3 are foldedigtogether. v In the member 3 ofthe holder 1 there are formed two elastic tongues 8'projeeti'ng in opposite directions one from the other and 'terminating in heads 9- struck up from one side to form rounded bosses 10, these bosses projecting from the plane of the tongues 8 on the face matching the perforations 6 in the member 2 when the parts are folded together so that these bosses may enter the perforations 6 to a limited extent. Each tongue 8 is struck out from the metal of the member 3 of the holder leaving a slot 11 conforming in shape to the tongue, between the tongue and the body of the member 3. Where the tongue joins the body of the member 3, the 'tongue being integral therewith, the elasticity of the tongue may be augmented by' reducing its width by expanding the width of the' slotv as shown at 12 or in any other manner. This increase in the elasticity of the tongue 8 is not mandatory and the tongues maybe of the same diameter throughout from the head 9 to the point where the tongues merge into the body of the member 3. Since the heads 9 are nearer to the outer ends of the holder than they are to each other and in order to make the tongues 8 long enough to render them quite elastic, these tongues extend one toward the other and their` points of junction with the body portion of the member 3 are contiguous. The tongues 8 have a normal tendency toward the. member 2 so that the projecting portions of the bosses 10-may extend into.

When the two members of the holder 1 are folded one toward the other, their 'inner faces are in close relation so as to engage the opposite faces of the wafer like blades emperforations 6 thus efectually locking the i blade inthe4 holder.
There are numerous types of. safety razor blades which are notprovided with spaced `perforations and it is customary to provide stropping machines for safety razor. blades with special holders adapted to the different types of blades. The holder however of the present invention wilL take various ty-pes of backs, Without interference.

The yielding lcharacter ofthe bosses or projections designed to enter the perforations of blades to hold them in the device makes the holder equally adapted for unperforated blades so that a single holder may be used for various ty es of blades' thus avoiding the necessity o providing a separate holderl for different types or groups of blades on the market.
What is claimed is:
1. A safety razor blade holder for carrying the blade during stropping, having opposed members adapted to grasp the razor blade, one of said .members being provided with bosses or projections extending 'toward the other member and yieldable independently of the member carrying them.
2. A safety razor blade holder for carrying ythe blade during stropping, having opposed members adapted to grasp the razor blade, one of said members being provided tions in with spring fingers having at their free ends bosses or projections directed toward the other member and spaced to enter perforaperforated types of safety razor blades. l Y

A sheet metal holder for safety razor blades during stropping comprsin a single piece of sheet metal bent on itsel to form opposed blade grasping members, one of which members has spring fingers formed therein with their4 free ends remote one from the other and terminating in struck up portions or projections extending toward the other member.
