PATENT OFFICE.
IVINIFRED E. JUDGE, OF NEV YORK, N. Y.
DAILY-ENGAGEMENT CALENDAR.
SPECIFICATION' forming part of Letters Patent No. 766,763, dated August 2, 1904.
Application led January 26, 1904. Serial No. 190,661. (No model.)
To @ZZ w/wm, z may concern:
Be it known that I, VINIERED E. JUDGE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Daily-Engagement Calendars, of which the following is a specitication, reference being' had therein tothe accompanying' drawings.
In the accompanying drawings, Figures 1, 2, 3, et, 5, 6, and 7 are plan views of seven of the pages or sheets of myimproved calendar; and Fig. 8 is a perspective View of a book made up of such calendar-sheets.
Myinvention relates to calendars for recording social or business engagements; and it consists of the novel arrangement of the names of the days upon the calendar, together with a space opposite each day formed by suitably-ruled lines or other distinguishing device and adapted to contain memoranda of engagements.
In the seven sheets or pages a of my improved calendar illustrated in the drawings I give my novel and useful arrangement of days and dates for the month of January, 1904. In Fig. l I show a page or sheet devoted to the Sundays of said month, tive in number, all arranged in a vertical column on the lefthand side of the page or sheet, each one given its proper date in the month. At the top of the page or sheet is displayed the name of the month and the year. Above and below each of the Sundays named is a horizontal line b, extending across the page or sheet. Thus there is left a vertical column of blank spaces c on the rig'ht-hand side of the column of Sundays, which spaces are separated from each other by the horizontal lines and from the eolumn of days by a vertical line d. Above this column of blank rectangular spaces is printed the word Engagements In Fig. 2 the Mondays of the month are similarly arranged, with corresponding spaces c opposite each of them to the right; in Fig. 3, the Tuesdays; in Fig'. 4, the Vednesdays; in Fig. 5, the Thursdays; in Fig. 6, the Fridays, and in Fig. 7 the Saturdays. The days of the succeeding' calendar months are similarly grouped, with like blank spaces arranged in the same manner. These sheets or pages may be bound together in a book form e, as shown in Fig'. 8, or they may be loose sheets, and they may contain only the days of like name in a month, or groups of prints representing' respective sheets for a plurality of divisions may be combined on larger sheets, as shown in Figs. l to 7 of the drawings.
The novelty of this invention consists in giving separate series of the days of the week having the same name and providing for each day of such series a blank engagement-space properly separated or marked off by ruled lines, so that the engagements or memoranda pertaining to any one day are separate and distinct from those of the next preceding or next succeeding day.
I claim as a novel and useful invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The improved daily-engagement calendar consisting of homogeneous sheets respectively having thereon in vertical columns the names and dates of the week-days of the month which are the same, with contiguous blank spaces adjoining said names, one for each day.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
VINIFRED E. J UDGE.
