IMPROVEMENT IN DRIP-POTS FOR SUGAR-MOLDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 32,873, dated July 23, 1861.

Be it known that we, JOHN W. JAEBoE and ALEXANDER MAcKEY,both of the city,county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Drip -Pots for SuganMolds; and We do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description ofthe same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specificationbin which- Figure l is a side view of a drippot constructed according to our invent-ion. Fig. 2 is a central vertical section of the same.

The object desired to be attained by this invention is to make the top and neck ofthe drip pot stronger and more durable than either the cast-iron or the sheet-iron ones commonly adopted, in both of which the neck is Very liable to be split by the powerful Wedgelike action produced by the conical tips of the molds when filled with sugar.
To enable others to construct the pot according to our invention, We will proceed to describe it with reference to the drawings.
The body A of the pot is made of sheet iron seamed in the usual manner, and the bottom B may be made of Wrought or cast iron, and united in the common Way with the body.
The top C and neck D are made of separate pieces, which, when combined, present the usual form, the top G being made of a single piece of sheet-iron with a central opening of suitaable size, and With a flange, a, round its eXte rior to fit ovel` the body A, and stamped or otherwise Wrought into a suitable conical or conoidal form, and the neck D is composed of a ring of malleable cast-iron fitting to the central opening of the top G, and having its interior of the usual conical form for the reception of the molds, and having an external flange, b, to lit to the exterior of the head C. The malleable iron neck D thus constructed may be secured to the top C by rivets c c, as shown in the drawings, or by bronzing. Vhat We claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The construction of the drip-pot with its top C composed of a single piece of sheetiron, and its neck D composed of a ring of malleable iron, said top and neck being combined substantially as hereinspecified.
