FOOT-REST.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 259,883, dated June 20, 1882,
Application filed January 18, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom 2t may concern:
Be it knownthat I, GEORGE MANDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Footltests and-I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact desci-iptionof the invention. I
My invention has for its object toprovide a device designed to serve as a combined foot and knee rest, so as to afford a support to the foot of an individual on whom a shoe is being fitted and a hearing or cushion for the knee of the fitter.
My invention consists of a stool or support having two rigid sides and two oppositely-inclined rests or treads in different planes, ashereinai'ter fully specified.
Referring to the accompanying drawing,

this way the foot and shoe can be readily handied, and the latter buttoned, laced, or otherwise manipnlated with comfort to both parties concerned.
The inclined treads may be upholstered in any suitable manner to render the same more elegant in appearance and comfortable in use. What I claim as my invention is as follows: The foot and knee rest herein described, consisting of the sides B B, the tread E for the knee, and the foot-tread C, the foot-tread C bein g set at an opposite angle to the knee-tread and elevated above said knee-tread so as to leave a riser or step, D, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
