The present invention relates to medicating pessaries, and the object is to provide a simple pessary having an annular rim formed with a plurality of chambers therein capable of receiving medicated substances such as antiseptic jelly or the like.

With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Figure l is a top plan view of a pessary embodying the features of my invention. I Figure 2 is a sectional view therethrough taken substantially on the line 2-2 of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a top plan view, partly in section showing another embodiment of the invention.

Figure 4 is a sectional view therethrough taken substantially on the line 4-4 of Figure 3.

Figure 5 is a top plan view, partly in section showing still a further embodiment of the device.

Figure 6 is a sectional view therethrough taken substantially on the line 66 of Figure 5.

Referring to the drawings in detail and first to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2 it will be seen that the numeral 5 denotes a cup-shaped body on the upper open edge of which is formed an outwardly directed annular flange .6 and. there is also formed on the upper edge an inwardly directed rib, rim or shoulder I provided with a plurality of annular series of pockets 8 opening upwardly and capable of receiving medicated substances such as antiseptic jelly or the like. The modification in Figure 4 is the same except that the annular rim Ia has the pockets 8a opening inwardly and the modification shown in Figures 5 and 6 is the same except that the rim lb has its pockets 8b opening outwardly.

It is thought that the construction, utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof. w

The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in-th statement of the. 1 invention and the above description.

It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

A pessary of the class described comprising a cup-shaped body formed at its edge with an annular outwardly directed flange and also with an inwardly directed annular rim, said rim being positioned within the confines of the cup and radially extending partitions associated with the rim and cooperating therewith to form a plurality of pockets open at one side.
