Description
- The present application claims priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2018-0013358, filed Feb. 2, 2018, the entire contents of which is incorporated herein for all purposes by this reference.
- The present invention relates generally to a mascara container for use in applying mascara. More particularly, the present invention relates to a mascara container with a grooming comb, in which the grooming comb that easily combs and separates clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes after applying mascara is received and stored in an outer cap, and thus is easily withdrawn and used.
- As well known in the art, mascara is a cosmetic applied to the eyelashes to enhance the eyelashes.
- A mascara container in the related art generally includes a container body for containing mascara, a handle for opening and closing the container, a bar-shaped stem extending downwardly from the handle, a liquid application brush mounted at the stem, and a wiper for wiping the brush to remove any excess liquid present on the brush. The mascara is used in such a manner that the brush is smeared with the mascara through engagement or disengagement of the handle to or from the container body.
- Depending on the length and shape of bristles of the mascara brush, the mascara brush constructed as above is manufactured to be adapted to various functions such as creating volume (effect of adding volume to the eyelashes), curling (effect of curling up the ends of the eyelashes), creating long lashes (effect of lengthening the eyelashes), and cleaning (preventing clumps on the eyelashes), etc.
- The main role of the mascara brush is to evenly apply viscous mascara to the eyelashes and to properly comb and separate the eyelashes by means of the brush such that the eyelashes are effectively separated without clumping together. However, the mascara container in the related art is problematic in that the eyelashes often become clumpy due to the viscous mascara after applying the mascara to the eyelashes and a single brush coated with the mascara is used to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes, and thus excess mascara is applied to the eyelashes, which makes it difficult to properly comb and separate the eyelashes or requires a lot of time to comb and separate the eyelashes.
- In other words, in the related art, in order to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes to remove the clumps on the eyelashes, the excess mascara should be removed from the brush coated with the mascara after applying the mascara to the eyelashes using the brush, or the brush is used when the brush coated with the mascara is dry, resulting in user inconvenience.
- Accordingly, in the related art, the eyelashes clumped together with the viscous mascara should be combed and separated using a separate groomer (e.g. a brush) to remove the clumps on the eyelashes or mascara application should be performed again after removing the excess mascara from the eyelashes.
- In an effort to solve the problem of clumping the eyelashes due to the mascara brush as described above, it is noted that Patent Document 1 (Korean Patent No. 10-0817585) discloses a mascara brush in which a mascara application brush and a grooming comb are combined in an overlapping manner and used. However, the technique of Patent Document 1 also is problematic in that since the application brush and the grooming comb are combined in an overlapping manner, when applying the mascara to the eyelashes, the mascara on the application brush is also applied to the grooming comb, resulting in limitations to comb and separation of the clumpy eyelashes and removal of the clumps on the eyelashes.
- In addition, it is noted that Patent Document 2 (Korean Utility Model Application Publication No. 20-2018-0000094) discloses a mascara container provided with first and second brushes provided at a first or opposite sides of a stem and a comb-shaped third brush for eyelash makeup. However, because a single stem is equipped with the respective brushes, it is difficult to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes and remove the clumps on the eyelashes due to such a structural limitation.
- (Patent document 1) Korean Patent No. 10-817585 (published on Mar. 31, 2008)
- (Patent document 2) Korean Utility Model Application Publication No. 20-2018-0000094 (published on Jan. 8, 2018)
- Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the related art, and the present invention provides a mascara container with a grooming comb, in which regardless of a mascara application brush, a separate grooming comb that easily combs and separates clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes after applying mascara is detachably received and stored in an outer cap, and is easily withdrawn and used as required, resulting in remarkably enhanced user convenience.
- In order to achieve the above object, according to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a mascara container with a grooming comb, the mascara container including: a container body containing mascara; a mascara application part opened and closed with respect to an injection opening of the container body; a receiving recess formed in the mascara application part; and a grooming comb detachably received in the receiving recess and configured to comb and separate clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes after applying the mascara.
- According to the present invention, the mascara application part may include: an inner cap coupled to an injection opening of the container body to be openable and closeable; a stem extending from the inner cap; a mascara application brush provided at an end of the stem; and an outer cap integrally coupled to an outer circumferential surface of the inner cap to be opened and closed together with the inner cap and functioning as a handle during application of mascara, wherein the receiving recess formed in the mascara application part may be open outwardly of the outer cap.
- According to the present invention, the mascara container may further include a wiper wiping the mascara application brush to remove excess mascara present on the mascara application brush during application thereof.
- According to the present invention, the grooming comb may include: a comb portion formed in a comb shape; and a handle portion extending to a side of the comb portion.
- According to the present invention, the grooming comb may be configured such that the comb portion and the handle portion are formed integrally with each other.
- According to the present invention, the grooming comb may be configured such that the comb portion and the handle portion are separately formed and selectively assembled.
- According to the present invention, the handle portion of the grooming comb may be configured with various decorative objects.
- According to the present invention, the grooming comb detachably received in the receiving recess may be configured such that when the comb portion is inserted into the receiving recess, a stop step of the handle portion is supported on the receiving recess while blocking the receiving recess, such that foreign contaminants are prevented from entering the receiving recess during carrying.
- According to the present invention, the grooming comb is separately mounted in the receiving recess of the outer cap so as to be withdrawn therefrom, whereby it is very convenient to store, carry, and use the grooming comb. In addition, regardless of the mascara application brush, the separate grooming comb is used to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes to remove the clumps on the eyelashes, whereby it is possible to efficiently comb and separate the eyelashes after applying mascara. Moreover, the grooming comb is directly withdrawn and used without removing the outer cap from the container body, resulting in remarkably enhanced user convenience.

mascara application part 120 is removed from thecontainer body 110 while holding theouter cap 128. Then, themascara application part 120 is withdrawn in a state in which the mascara contained in thecontainer body 110 is present on themascara application brush 126. During this, in a case where thewiper 150 is equipped, themascara application part 120 is removed from thecontainer body 110 while the excess mascara is wiped off. - Accordingly, a user applies mascara using the
mascara application brush 126 to coat the mascara on the eyelashes. After applying mascara, themascara application brush 120 is coupled again to thecontainer body 110. - Meanwhile, in a case where too much mascara is applied to the eyelashes after applying mascara, or the eyelashes are clumped together, the
grooming comb 140 separately received in the receivingrecess 130 of theouter cap 128 is withdrawn to comb and separate the eyelashes. - In other words, the
comb portion 142 combs through the clumpy eyelashes while holding thehandle portion 144 of thegrooming comb 140 withdrawn from the receivingrecess 130, whereby the eyelashes can be evenly combed and separated while the clumps on the eyelashes can be removed. - Then, when the use of the
grooming comb 140 is completed, thecomb portion 142 is inserted again into the receivingrecess 130 and received and stored. - Because the
grooming comb 140 is configured such that thecomb portion 142 is fully received in the receivingrecess 130 while thehandle portion 144 blocks the receivingrecess 130, it is possible to prevent foreign contaminants from entering the receivingrecess 130 during storage and carrying and to prevent contamination due to the foreign contaminants, thus enabling hygienic use of thegrooming comb 140. - Although a preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
