Abstract
Description
- Not applicable.
- Not applicable.
- Not applicable.
- Not applicable.
- The invention relates to baby/child cribs/cradles comprising inner edges and/or guardrails/bars upholstered with padded fabrics during manufacturing in order to protect babies/children from damages due to hitting hard surfaces.
- Commercially available crib and cradle applications lack protective upholstering on guardrails. Mothers take some precautions to prevent their babies from hitting their head, legs and arm to these hard wood parts while moving in their sleep. In general, these wood and hard surfaces are attempted to be covered with sponge materials fastened using ribbons. However, mothers who use of these fabric covered sponges so called edge protection encounter the following problems:
-
- There are difficulties in use since these edge protection materials with different sizes does not fit the dimensions of the crib.
- Even when dimensions fit, sponges get loose in time and lead to an unpleasant appearance. Therefore, they are esthetically unappealing.
- Once the infants become active, they try to remove these edge protection materials, which are intended for preventing babies to hit themselves to the crib in their sleep, or they try to climb onto them. Therefore, there are serious risks threatening the safety of the infant.
- The mentioned edge protection materials block the gaps between the bars and thereby disrupt the air circulation through the crib. Therefore, use of these edge protection materials which cover the bars is prohibited in some countries.
- Application no. 2015/02526 encountered during a technical search relates to baby cribs comprising guardrails moveable in upwards and downwards directions along shafts which are connected to top holders and bottom holders mounted at the top and the bottom of the crib. It is understood that the mentioned system does not provide an innovation aimed at upholstering the guardrails for safety.
- Another application no. 2010/11171 encountered during the technical search relates to a baby crib where the infant sleeps, receives care and spend time, which comprises an innovation aimed at allowing the bed to be moved in upwards and downwards directions. On the other hand, the mentioned structure fails to provide a solution to the aforementioned problems.
- Therefore, the aforementioned disadvantages and lack of a solution to the problem in the prior art have made it necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
- The present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages in the current state of the art.
- The primary object of the invention is to provide a baby crib comprising guardrails and/or inner edges upholstered with sponge padded fabrics during manufacturing in order to in order to eliminate the need for attaching external protective sponges and edge protections to baby cribs.
- An object of the is to prevent the infants to hit hard wood surfaces in their sleep or spending time inside the baby crib, baby cradle or the transition beds used for children older than 2 years, by upholstering the inner edges and/or guardrails with padded fabric.
- Another object of the invention is to ensure an easily maintained air circulation inside the crib during the sleep of the infant/child.
- Another object of the invention is to ensure maintaining the stylish look of the furniture and the child room by eliminating drooping, wrinkled edges.
- Another object of the invention is to eliminate extra costs paid for edge protection materials.
- Structural and characteristic features and all of the advantages of the invention shall become apparent with the appended drawings and the detailed description with reference to these drawings; therefore assessment should be based on these drawings and the detailed description.

- The present invention shall become apparent with the preferred embodiments of the invention disclosed herein detailed description, without limiting the scope of the invention.
- The invention provides a baby crib (100) where babies/children sleep or spend time, comprising a headboard part (2) and a footboard part (3) introduced at the sections of the bed which correspond to the head and foot section, and at least one side section in the form of a guardrail/bars encircling the bed, which are introduced around a bed board (10) onto which the bed is positioned, and form the main frame; wherein it comprises upholstered parts, which cover the inner surfaces of the said headboard part (2), the footboard part (3) and the side parts (the first side section (4), the second side section (5) and the moveable door (1)) facing inside the baby crib (100), and are connected to the said parts by a connector (7), in order to protect babies/children from damages due to hitting themselves to hard surfaces.
- Components of the baby crib (100) of the invention and their function are given below:
-
- a moveable door (1) which is removable/attachable when desired, can be engaged by means of the snapping slots (9) introduced on it, to the parts of the first side section (4) introduced on the right and left sides of it, and comprising a connector slot (8) into which the said connector (7) is placed (following the outer sides) which allows the upholstered part to be engaged to its surface facing inside the baby crib (100),
- an upholstered part for the moveable door (1.1) (preferably fabric upholstering is applied onto a 6 mm MDF) with a form that allows it to cover the surface of the said moveable door (1) facing inside the baby crib (100) and which is connected to the moveable door (1) by means of the connector (7) placed inside the said connector slot (8),
- a headboard part (2) and a footboard part (3) introduced at head and foot sections of the baby crib (100), comprising a connector slot (8) inside which the said connector (7) is placed (following the outer sides) in order to connect the upholstered parts on their surfaces facing inside the baby crib (100),
- an upholstered part for the headboard (2.1) and an upholstered part for the footboard (3.1), with a form that allows it to cover the surface of the said headboard part (2) and the said footboard part (3), and which are connected to the headboard part (2) and the footboard part (3) by means of the connector (7) placed inside the connector slot (8) (Thereby, the individual inside the baby crib (100) is prevented form hitting the hard surfaces at the head and foot sections by this upholstering.) (Preferably, parts are made of upholstered MDF.)
- pinholes (6) introduced on the upholstered part for the headboard (2.1) and the upholstered part for the footboard (3.1) in order to allow these parts to be mounted onto the headboard part (2) and the footboard part (3),
