Abstract
An integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment for deploying false eyelashes on a user's face. The integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment comprises an eyelid portion defining a molded, half oval body, shaped to substantially correspond to the lower section of a human's upper eyelid and an eyelash portion is attached to and extending from the bottom of the front side of the eyelid portion. Spread across the entire back surface of the eyelid portion is a low tack adhesive coating suitable to enable the integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment to be removably attached to the surface of a wearer's eyelid. In one embodiment, the eyelid portion is constructed of a pliable plastic material, thereby enabling it to contact the eyelid of its wearer across its entire back surface area by conforming to the curvature of their eyelid.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates generally to glamour and beauty accessories and, more particularly, to a false eyelash that is attachable to the eyelid of a wearer through an integrated eyelid portion.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- The use and design of false eyelashes for enhancing the length, thickness, and overall appearance of a wearer's eyelashes is well known. Conventional false eyelashes often comprise an elongated eyelash strip that is attached directly or adjacent to the wearer's eyelashes, typically with glue or some other adhesive. A problem which still exists, however, is that because of the way conventional eyelashes are attached to the wearer, it is not uncommon for them to become stuck on a wearer's eyelids at the location of the wearer's real eyelashes, resulting in a very painful and time consuming removal process. In addition, because of where the adhesive must be placed to attached conventional eyelashes, it can irritant or damage the wearer's eyes or the sensitive skin surrounding the eyes.
- Thus, there remains a need for an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment which would allow a user to wear false eyelashes that attach across a substantial part of their eyelid. It would be helpful if such an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment eliminated the need for false eyelashes to be attached across a narrow strip that is very close to the wearer's eye. It would be additionally desirable for such an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment to utilize a relatively low-tack adhesive that remains effective because it attaches to a larger attachment target area.
- The Applicant's invention described herein provides for an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment adapted to allow a user wear false eyelashes without concern for them becoming stuck to their existing eyelids or otherwise irritating their eye and skin. The primary components in Applicant's integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment is an eyelid portion, an adhesive coating, and an eyelash portion. When in operation, the integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment enables the attachment of false eyelashes to a larger area of the wearer's skin. As a result, many of the limitations imposed by prior art structures are removed.
- An integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment for deploying false eyelashes on a user's face without adhering them to the user's eyelashes. The integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment comprises an eyelid portion defining a molded, half oval body, shaped to substantially correspond to the lower section of a human's upper eyelid and an eyelash portion is attached to and extend from the bottom of the front side of the eyelid portion.
- It is an object of this invention to provide an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment which would allow a user to wear false eyelashes that attach across a substantial part of their eyelid.
- It is another object of this invention to provide an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment that eliminates the need for false eyelashes to be attached across a narrow strip that is very close to the wearer's eye.
- It is yet another object of this invention to provide an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment that utilizes a relatively low-tack adhesive that remains effective because it attaches to a larger attachment target area on the wearer's eyelid.
- These and other objects will be apparent to one of skill in the art.
-
FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment built in accordance with the present invention having a full size, substantially clear eyelid portion. -
FIG. 2 is a front elevational view of an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment built in accordance with the present invention having a narrow size, substantially clear eyelid portion. -
FIG. 3a is a front elevational view of an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment built in accordance with the present invention having a full size, solid black eyelid portion. -
FIG. 3b is a front elevational view of an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment built in accordance with the present invention having a full size, solid color eyelid portion. -
FIG. 3c is a front elevational view of an integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment built in accordance with the present invention having a full size, pattern eyelid portion - Referring now to the drawings and in particular
FIG. 1 , an integrated eyelid andeyelash attachment 10 is shown having aneyelid portion 11 and aneyelash portion 12. Theeyelid portion 11 defines a molded, half oval body, shaped to substantially correspond to the lower section of a human's upper eyelid. In the preferred embodiment, theeyelid portion 11 is constructed of a pliable plastic material, thereby enabling it to contact the eyelid of its wearer across its entire surface area by conforming to the curvature of their eyelid. - The
eyelash portion 12 is attached to and extending from the bottom of the front side of theeyelid portion 11. Theeyelash portion 12 defines convention fake eyelash fibers that are positioned on theeyelid portion 11 in a manner to simulate the appearance of eyelashes in the aesthetic style that is desired by the wearer. - Spread across the entire back surface of the eyelid portion is an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating defines a relatively low tack adhesive suitable to enable the integrated eyelid and
eyelash attachment 10 to be removably attached to the eyelid of a wearer. It is specifically contemplated that that because theeyelid portion 11 enables a larger contact surface for attachment to the eyelid, the low tack adhesive remains suitable for its purpose even though it is not as strong an adhesive as conventional false eyelash adhesives. - Referring now to
FIG. 2 , an alternate embodiment of the integrated eyelid andeyelash attachment 20 is shown having anarrow eyelid portion 21 and aneyelash portion 22. In this embodiment, theeyelid portion 21 is narrower than in the preferred embodiment (yet still wider than the attachment strip of conventional false eyelashes). The use of such anarrow eyelid portion 21 may be desirable for users with smaller eyelids or who otherwise have a fashion desire for a smaller eyelid attaching member. - Referring now to
FIGS. 3a, 3b, and 3c , in other embodiments, the integrated eyelid andeyelash attachment 30 may employ a solidblack eyelid portion 31, a solidcolor eyelid portion 31′, or apattern eyelid portion 31″ for stylistic purposes. - It is contemplated that the adhesive coating employed will be waterproof and will enable the same integrated eyelid and eyelash attachment to be reused a plurality of times. In the preferred embodiment, it is contemplated that the low tack adhesive will be formulated to enable reuse up to three times.
- The instant invention has been shown and described herein in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made therefrom within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
