Abstract
The current invention is a diaper bag with an adjustable shoulder strap, one top compartment, and two side compartments with one being insulated for cold/warm storage. The diaper bag also has two side pouches at either end of the bag. The bag has a rolled up mat in the non-insulated compartment that can be rolled out for use.
Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a diaper bag with a built in mat with a insolated compartment for cold/warm storage
- 2. Description of Prior Art
- While the prior art shows a variety of different bags containers and the like for use with babies and young children. The inventors, with their eight grandchildren, saw a need for a better, more organized diaper bag that is easy to use and store necessary supplies for a child. One that has its own changing pad that is quick and easy to you as well as a place to store bottles and other such items that need to be kept cool.
- There is still room for improvement in the art.
- The current invention is a diaper bag with an adjustable shoulder strap, one top compartment, two side compartments with one being insulated for cold/warm storage, two top pouches at either end of the bag again with one being insolated for cold storage.
- The bag has a change pad attachment connected with hook and loop attachment and is stored in a coiled position. This pad can be easy to use and find changing pad.
- The bag can be used for the storage of food and bottles with the insolated pouch.
- The bag is a very much needed improvement over existing art.

FIG. 10 displays a child on the mat for changing. - The following description is demonstrative in nature and is not intended to limit the scope of the invention or its application of uses.
- There are a number of significant design features and improvements incorporated within the invention.
- The current invention is a
diaper bag 1 with an adjustable shoulder strap 10, onetop compartment 150, twoside compartments insulated compartment 140 for cold/warm storage compartment for cold/warm storage, two side pouches, and insolatedpouch 160 and anormal pouch 170 at either end of thebag 1. -
FIG. 1 a shows a front view of the DiaperBag 1 andFIG. 1 b show a back view of the DiaperBag 1. The Diaper bag consists of a bag 10 that has a roundedtriangle shape sides 20 as shown inFIGS. 2 and 3 with asquare bottom 40 as shown inFIG. 5 . Theadjustable shoulder strap 15 connects to thetop 50 of thediaper bag 1. - There are two
side pouches bottles 165. Each of these has an opening at the top with elastic or an elastic material to keep the top of the pouch closed. -
FIGS. 3 and 4 show cross sections of the diaper bag showing the compartments. There are twolower compartments diaper bag 1. The insolatedcompartment 140 has insolated material covering the outsides. This insolatedcompartment 140 is used to hot or cold items such as food or drinks. Thenon-insolated compartment 130, in the preferred embodiment, is used to store things like wipes and diapers, This is also where the roll outmat 80 which is attached to thediaper bag 1 through hook andloop fasteners 85 to the bottom of the non-insolatedcompartment 130. Thismat 80 rolls out away from thediaper bag 1 and gives the user or parent a clean spot to change their children. Themat 80 is stored in rolled up when not being used. Themat 80 is detachable from thebag 1 which is very unique to this invention. - The two lower compartments are accessed through
compartment lids 120 that can open and shut in the front and back of thediaper bag 1. These compartment lids are held closed using amagnetic snaps 70. Thecompartment lids 120 open up to 90 degrees so that the lie flat against the surface that thediaper bag 1 is on allowing for themat 80 rolled out flat, as shown inFIGS. 7 , 8, and 9. Achild 200 can be placed on the rolled outmat 80 for changing or cleaning as shown inFIG. 10 . - The
mat 80 is made of form or another type of soft thin material such as fabric within an outer water resist material such as plastic or vinyl or washable cloth. When stored is it in a rolled up position as shown inFIG. 4 . It is rolled out the side of thediaper bag 1 when thecompartment lid 120 is opened and laid out flat as shown inFIG. 7 . - The
diaper bag 1 has anadjustable strap 15 that is attached at two points on the top of thediaper bag 1 through any normal type of attachment means which can include being sewn on or attached to a ring attached to thediaper bag 1. Thestrap 15 can adjust its length to accommodate different sized users. In the preferred embodiment thestrap 15 is adjusted using a standard adjustment means such as buckle or pull strap. - The
diaper bag 1 will have atop compartment 150 which will have an opening in the front for access to thetop compartment 150. There will be a hingedflap 155 that will cover the opening and keep items like clothing and other accessories. In the preferred method theflap 155 will close by azipper 163. This closing method byzipper 163 will prevent the contents of thetop compartment 150 from falling out of thebag 1 if it is turn over on its side or upside down. - In the preferred embodiment the
diaper bag 1 is made of a flexible but sturdy such as a heavy cloth or vinyl. - The
diaper bag 1 assists in the organization by little bottle and changing toys etc. by separating clothing, blankets, clothes, bottles, food and formula, diapers, wipes changing pad, toys, etc. into separate compartments. - Although the present invention has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred versions thereof, other versions are possible. Therefore, the point and scope of the appended claims should not be limited to the description of the preferred versions contained herein.
- As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
Claims (20)
1. A bag comprising:
a bag with an adjustable shoulder strap, one top compartment, side compartments with one being insulated, two side pouches at either end of the bag, with a detachable mat stored in a rolled up position and attached to the bottom surface of the non-insolated compartment.
2. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein one of said side pouches is insolated.
3. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein said side pouches are insolated.
4. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein said two lower compartments are accessed through compartment lids that can open and shut.
5. The bag as defined in claim 4 wherein said compartment lids are located in the front and back of the diaper bag.
6. The bag as defined in claim 4 wherein said compartment lids can open up to 90 degrees.
7. The bag as defined in claim 4 wherein said compartment lids are held closed using a closing means.
8. The bag as defined in claim 4 wherein said closing means are magnetic snaps 70.
9. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein said mat can be rolled out flat.
10. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein a child can be placed on the rolled out mat.
11. The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein said bag will have an opening in the front for access to the top compartment.
12. The bag as defined in claim 11 wherein a hinged flap will cover said opening.
13. The bag as defined in claim 12 wherein said hinged flap will close by a zipper.
14. A bag comprising:
a bag with an adjustable shoulder strap, one top compartment, side compartments with one being insulated, two side pouches at either end of the bag, with a detachable mat stored in a rolled up position and attached to the bottom surface of the non-insolated compartment, where said side pouches are insolated, wherein said two lower compartments are accessed through compartment lids that can open and shut, where said bag will have an opening in the front for access to the top compartment and where hinged flap will cover said opening and where said compartment lids are located in the front and back of the diaper bag.
15. The bag as defined in claim 14 wherein said compartment lids can open up to 90 degrees.
16. The bag as defined in claim 4 wherein said compartment lids are held closed using a closing means.
17. The bag as defined in claim 14 wherein said closing means are magnetic snaps 70.
18. The bag as defined in claim 14 wherein said mat can be rolled out flat.
19. The bag as defined in claim 14 wherein a child can be placed on the rolled out mat.
20. The bag as defined in claim 14 wherein said hinged flap will close by a zipper.
