Abstract
A server rack assembly includes a frame, a support, and a securing component. The frame includes a first pole and a second pole. The support includes a first part and a second part. A first stopper portion is located on the first part, and a second stopper portion is located on the second part. The securing component includes a bottom portion mounted to the first and the second poles, a first securing portion and a second securing portion. A first positioning portion is disposed on the first securing portion, and a second positioning portion is disposed on the second securing portion. The first securing portion is attached to the first part, so the first positioning portion is engaged with the first stopper portion. The second securing portion is attached to the second part, so the second positioning portion is engaged with the second stopper portion.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to electronic device enclosures, and more particularly to a server rack assembly.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Server system racks house electronic equipment such as network server systems, data storage devices, power supplies, and others. A server rack assembly generally includes two frames of the same configuration and four supports connected to the two frames. Each frame includes a first pole and a second pole. When the first pole is to be secured to the second pole and the support, a connecting component must synchronously connect to the first pole, the second pole and the support, an inconvenient requirement.
- Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 6 is a partial isometric view of a support ofFIG. 3 . - The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , a server rack assembly in accordance with an embodiment includes twoframes 100 and foursupports 50 located between the twoframes 100. - Each
frame 100 includes twofirst poles 10 parallel to each other, and twosecond poles 20 parallel to each other. In one embodiment, eachframe 100 is a rectangle, eachfirst pole 10 is substantially perpendicular to eachsecond pole 20, and each of the first andsecond poles supports 50. - Referring to
FIGS. 2-4 , eachfirst pole 10 includes a first base (not shown), afirst side panel 12, and asecond side panel 13 connected two opposite edges of the first base, atop panel 14, and a supportingpanel 15 extending from one side of thefirst side panel 12 towards thesecond side panel 13. In one embodiment, the length of thesecond side panel 13 is the same as that of thetop panel 14, but less than that of thefirst side panel 12 and the supportingpanel 15; and the length of thefirst side panel 12 is the same as that of the supportingpanel 15. Anotch 151, and twomounting holes 153 adjacent thereto, are defined in two opposite ends of the supportingpanel 15. - Each
second pole 20 includes asecond base 21, afirst side plate 22 and asecond side plates 23 connecting two opposite edges of thesecond base 21, atop plate 24, and a supportingplate 25 extending from one side of thefirst side plate 22 towards thesecond side plate 23. A thoughhole 211 is defined in thesecond base 21. Anindentation 251 and two securingholes 253 are defined in two opposite ends of the supportingplate 25, and the two securingholes 253 are adjacent to theindentation 251. In one embodiment, thesecond pole 20 is longer than thefirst pole 10, the length of thesecond side plate 23 is the same as that of thetop plate 24, but shorter than that of thefirst side plate 22 and the supportingplate 25; and the length of thefirst side plate 22 is the same as that of the supportingplate 25. Aspace 255 is defined between thefirst side plate 22 and the supportingplate 25, for receiving an end of the supportingpanel 15. - A
securing component 60 is secured to eachfirst pole 10 and eachsecond pole 20, and includes abottom portion 61, afirst securing portion 63 and asecond securing portion 65 connected to thefirst securing portion 63. In one embodiment, the firstsecuring portion 63 is substantially perpendicular to thebottom portion 61 and the secondsecuring portion 65. - An
opening 611 is defined in thebottom portion 61, corresponding to the throughhole 211 of thesecond pole 20. Four fixing holes 613 (shown inFIG. 5 ) are defined in thebottom portion 61, corresponding to themounting holes 153 of the first supportingpanel 15 and the securingholes 253 of the second supportingpanel 25. The first and second securingportions portions side portions fastening hole side portion FIG. 5 ) is defined in one side of aside portion 631, and a second positioning portion 6513 (shown inFIG. 5 ) is defined in one side of aside portion 651. In one embodiment, thepositioning portion 6313 communicates with thepositioning portion 6513. - A connecting
member 70 includes afirst portion 71 with an inner fastener (not shown) and asecond portion 73 connected to thefirst portion 71, received in the opening 611 of thebottom portion 61. - Referring to
FIG. 6 , eachsupport 50 can accommodate the first and second securingportions first part 51 and asecond part 53, that is the same as thefirst part 51. In one embodiment, thefirst part 51 is substantially perpendicular to thesecond part 53. Thefirst part 51 includes afirst side wall 511, asecond side wall 513, that is perpendicular to thefirst side wall 511, and athird side wall 515, that is perpendicular to thesecond side wall 513. Aretaining hole third side walls fastening holes securing component 60. Afirst stopper portion 5113 is disposed on thefirst side wall 511, corresponding to thefirst positioning portion 6313 of thesecuring component 60. Thesecond part 53 includes afirst side board 531, asecond side board 533, that is perpendicular to thefirst side board 531, and athird side board 535, that is perpendicular to thesecond side board 533. Apositioning hole third side boards fastening holes securing component 60. Asecond stopper portion 5313 is disposed on thefirst side board 531, corresponding to thesecond positioning portion 6513 of thesecuring component 60. In one embodiment, thefirst side wall 511 of thefirst part 51 is substantially parallel to thethird side wall 515 of thefirst part 51, but substantially perpendicular to thesecond side wall 513 of thefirst part 51 and thefirst side board 531 of thesecond part 53. Thefirst side board 531 of thesecond part 53 is substantially parallel to thethird side board 535 of thesecond part 53 and thesecond side wall 513 of thefirst part 51, but substantially perpendicular to thesecond side board 533 of thesecond part 53. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-6 , in assembly, thefirst pole 10 connects to thesecond pole 20 and is perpendicular thereto. The end of the supportingpanel 15 is received in thespace 255 of thesecond pole 20, and a hole 30 (shown inFIG. 4 ) is formed by thenotch 151 of the supportingpanel 15 and theindentation 251 of the supportingplate 25. - The
securing component 60 is placed on the supportingpanel 15 and the supportingplate 25. The twomounting holes 153 are aligned with twofixing holes 613 of thesecuring component 60, the two securingholes 253 are aligned with other twofixing holes 613 of thesecuring component 60, two first fixing members (not shown) are synchronously received in the twomounting holes 153 and the twofixing holes 613, and two second fixing members (not shown) are synchronously received in the two securingholes 253 and the other twofixing holes 613, to mount thesecuring component 60 to the supportingpanel 15 and the supportingplate 25. - The
support 50 is placed on thesecuring component 60, thefirst securing portion 63 is received in thefirst part 51 of thesupport 50, and thesecond securing portion 65 is received insecond part 53 of thesupport 50. The threefastening holes 6311 of theside portion 631 are aligned with the three retainingholes fastening holes 6311 and the threeretaining holes fastening holes 6511 are aligned with the threepositioning holes fastening holes 6511 and the threepositioning holes portions securing component 60 are secured to the first andsecond parts support 50. - The connecting
member 70 passes through the throughhole 211 of thesecond pole 20, thehole 30 and the opening 611, and thesecond portion 73 is received in the opening 611. Afootstand 80 is received in the inner fastener of thefirst portion 71 of the connectingmember 70. - In addition, the
second side panel 13 of thefirst pole 10 is mounted to thesecond side plate 23 of thesecond pole 20, and thesupport 50 is mounted tosecond side panel 13 and thesecond side plate 23. The sever rack assembly can be assembled stably. - It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages have been set forth in the foregoing description of embodiments, together with details of the structures and functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the disclosure to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
Claims (18)
1. A server rack assembly comprising:
a frame comprising a first pole and a second pole connected to the first pole;
a support, connected to the first and the second poles, comprising a first part and a second part attached to the first part, a first stopper portion located on the first part, and a second stopper portion located on the second part; and
a securing component comprising a bottom portion, a first securing portion attached to the bottom portion, a second securing portion connected to the first securing portion, a first positioning portion disposed on the first securing portion, and a second positioning portion disposed on the second securing portion;
wherein the bottom portion is mounted to the first and the second poles, the first securing portion is attached to the first part, so the first positioning portion is engaged with the first stopper portion, and the second securing portion is attached to the second part, so the second positioning portion is engaged with the second stopper portion.
2. The server rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first securing portion is substantially perpendicular to the second securing portion and the bottom portion.
3. The server rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first securing portion comprises a side portion, and the first part comprises a first side plate secured to the side portion.
4. The server rack assembly of claim 3 , wherein the second part comprises a first side board, and the first side board is substantially perpendicular to the first side plate of the first part.
5. The server rack assembly of claim 4 , wherein the first part comprises a third side plate that is substantially parallel to the first side plate of the first part, the second part comprises a third side board that is substantially parallel to the first side board of the second part, and the third side plate of the first part is substantially perpendicular to the third side board of the second part.
6. The server rack assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a connecting member and a footstand, the connecting member is engaged with the bottom portion, and the footstand is secured to the connecting member.
7. The server rack assembly of claim 6 , wherein an opening is defined in the bottom portion, for accommodating the connecting member.
8. The server rack assembly of claim 7 , wherein a notch is defined in the first pole, an indentation is defined in the second pole, and the notch and the indentation form a hole communicating with the opening.
9. The server rack assembly of claim 8 , wherein the first pole comprises a first supporting panel attached to the bottom portion, and the notch is defined in the first supporting panel.
10. A server rack assembly comprising:
a frame comprising a first pole and a second pole connected to the first pole; and the first pole comprising a side panel, a supporting panel extending from the side panel, the second pole comprising a side plate, a supporting plate extending from the side plate;
a support, connected to the first and the second poles, comprising a first part and a second part perpendicular to the first part; wherein the first part connected to the first pole, and the second part connected to the second pole; and
a securing component comprising a bottom portion secured to the supporting panel and the supporting plate, a first securing portion attached to the bottom portion, and a second securing portion connected to the first securing portion,
wherein the first securing portion is accommodated to the first part, and the second securing portion is accommodated to the second part.
11. The server rack assembly of claim 10 , wherein the first securing portion is substantially perpendicular to the second securing portion and the bottom portion.
12. The server rack assembly of claim 10 , wherein the first securing portion comprises a side portion, and the first part comprises a first side plate secured to the side portion.
13. The server rack assembly of claim 12 , wherein the second part comprises a first side board, and the first side board is substantially perpendicular to the first side plate of the first part.
14. The server rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein the first part comprises a third side plate that is substantially parallel to the first side plate, the second part comprises a third side board that is substantially parallel to the first side board, and the third side plate is substantially perpendicular to the third side board.
15. The server rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein a positioning portion is disposed on the first securing portion, and a stopper portion, that is engaged with the positioning portion, is disposed on the first side plate of the first part.
16. The server rack assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a connecting member and a footstand, the connecting member is engaged with the bottom portion, and the footstand is secured to the connecting member.
17. The server rack assembly of claim 16 , wherein an opening is defined in the bottom portion for accommodating the connecting member.
18. The server rack assembly of claim 17 , wherein a notch is defined in the first pole, a indentation is defined in the second pole, and the notch and the indentation form a hole communicating with the opening.
