Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a golf club and, more particularly, to a golf club that is available for right-handed and left-handed users.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A
conventional golf club 10 in accordance with the prior art shown inFIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a shank 1 1, agrip portion 12 mounted on a first end of theshank 11, and ahead portion 13 mounted on a second end of the shank and having a hittingface 14. However, theconventional golf club 10 is only available for a right-handed user or a left-handed user, thereby limiting the versatility of theconventional golf club 10. In addition, when thegolf ball 15 is located at the left side or right side of anobstruction 16, such as a stone or a tree, the hittingface 14 of thehead portion 13 cannot be used to hit thegolf ball 15, so that the user has to replace another golf club to hit thegolf ball 15 so as to move thegolf ball 15 outwardly from theobstruction 16, thereby causing inconvenience to the user. - In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a golf club, comprising a shank, a grip portion mounted on a first end of the shank, and a head portion mounted on a second end of the shank and having a first side formed with a first hitting face and a second side formed with a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club that is available for right-handed and left-handed users.
- Another objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the head portion is provided with a first hitting face and a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face, so that the golf club is available for right-handed and left-handed users, thereby enhancing the versatility of the golf club.
- A further objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are used to move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction no matter when the golf ball is located at the right side or the left side of the obstruction, so that the user can move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction easily and quickly without having to replace another golf club.
- A further objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the head portion is provided with a first hitting face and a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face, so that the user can use the head portion to hit the golf ball from the right side or the left side of the head portion, thereby facilitating the user operating the golf club.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional golf club in accordance with the prior art. -
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing usage of the conventional golf club as shown inFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a golf club in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing usage of the golf club as shown inFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 5 is another cross-sectional view showing usage of the golf club as shown inFIG. 3 . - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIG. 3 , agolf club 20 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises ashank 22, agrip portion 21 mounted on a first end of theshank 22, and ahead portion 23 mounted on a second end of theshank 22 and having a first side formed with a first hittingface 24 and a second side formed with a second hittingface 25 opposite to thefirst hitting face 24. - The
head portion 23 has a flattened plate shape. Thefirst hitting face 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23 are parallel with each other and are arranged symmetrically in an axial direction of thehead portion 23. Each of thefirst hitting face 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23 has the same shape and the same size and extends in the axial direction of thehead portion 23. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the first hittingface 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23 has a substantially convex shape and protrudes outwardly from thehead portion 23, so that the first hittingface 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23 are directed toward two different directions. - The second end of the
shank 22 is mounted on an end of thehead portion 23 and is located between the first hittingface 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23. Preferably, the second end of theshank 22 is located at a middle position of thehead portion 23 between thefirst hitting face 24 and the second hittingface 25 of thehead portion 23. - As shown in
FIGS. 3-5 , thehead portion 23 of thegolf club 20 is used to hit agolf ball 30. - As shown in
