Abstract

A golf club includes a shank, a grip portion, and a head portion. Thus, the head portion is provided with a first hitting face and a second hitting face, so that the user can use the head portion to hit the golf ball from the right side or the left side of the head portion. In addition, the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are used to move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction no matter when the golf ball is located at the right side or left side of the obstruction, so that the user can move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction easily and quickly without having to replace another golf club.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a golf club and, more particularly, to a golf club that is available for right-handed and left-handed users.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • A conventional golf club 10 in accordance with the prior art shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a shank 1 1, a grip portion 12 mounted on a first end of the shank 11, and a head portion 13 mounted on a second end of the shank and having a hitting face 14. However, the conventional golf club 10 is only available for a right-handed user or a left-handed user, thereby limiting the versatility of the conventional golf club 10. In addition, when the golf ball 15 is located at the left side or right side of an obstruction 16, such as a stone or a tree, the hitting face 14 of the head portion 13 cannot be used to hit the golf ball 15, so that the user has to replace another golf club to hit the golf ball 15 so as to move the golf ball 15 outwardly from the obstruction 16, thereby causing inconvenience to the user.
    • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a golf club, comprising a shank, a grip portion mounted on a first end of the shank, and a head portion mounted on a second end of the shank and having a first side formed with a first hitting face and a second side formed with a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face.
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club that is available for right-handed and left-handed users.
  • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the head portion is provided with a first hitting face and a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face, so that the golf club is available for right-handed and left-handed users, thereby enhancing the versatility of the golf club.
  • A further objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are used to move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction no matter when the golf ball is located at the right side or the left side of the obstruction, so that the user can move the golf ball outwardly from the obstruction easily and quickly without having to replace another golf club.
  • A further objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, wherein the head portion is provided with a first hitting face and a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face, so that the user can use the head portion to hit the golf ball from the right side or the left side of the head portion, thereby facilitating the user operating the golf club.
  • Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

    •  DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to the drawings and initially to FIG. 3, a golf club 20 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a shank 22, a grip portion 21 mounted on a first end of the shank 22, and a head portion 23 mounted on a second end of the shank 22 and having a first side formed with a first hitting face 24 and a second side formed with a second hitting face 25 opposite to the first hitting face 24.
  • The head portion 23 has a flattened plate shape. The first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 are parallel with each other and are arranged symmetrically in an axial direction of the head portion 23. Each of the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 has the same shape and the same size and extends in the axial direction of the head portion 23. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 has a substantially convex shape and protrudes outwardly from the head portion 23, so that the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 are directed toward two different directions.
  • The second end of the shank 22 is mounted on an end of the head portion 23 and is located between the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23. Preferably, the second end of the shank 22 is located at a middle position of the head portion 23 between the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23.
  • As shown in FIGS. 3-5, the head portion 23 of the golf club 20 is used to hit a golf ball 30.
  • As shown in FIG. 4, when the golf ball 30 is located at the left side of an obstruction 31, such as a stone or a tree, the first hitting face 24 of the head portion 23 is used to hit the golf ball 30 so as to move the golf ball 30 outwardly from the obstruction 31.
  • As shown in FIG. 5, when the golf ball 30 is located at the right side of the obstruction 31, the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 is used to hit the golf ball 30 so as to move the golf ball 30 outwardly from the obstruction 31.
  • Accordingly, the head portion 23 is provided with a first hitting face 24 and a second hitting face 25 opposite to the first hitting face 24, so that the golf club 20 is both available for right-handed and left-handed users, thereby enhancing the versatility of the golf club 20. In addition, the first hitting face 24 and the second hitting face 25 of the head portion 23 are used to move the golf ball 30 outwardly from the obstruction 31 no matter when the golf ball 30 is located at the right side or the left side of the obstruction 31, so that the user can move the golf ball 30 outwardly from the obstruction 31 easily and quickly without having to replace another golf club. Further, the head portion 23 is provided with a first hitting face 24 and a second hitting face 25 opposite to the first hitting face 24, so that the user can use the head portion 23 to hit the golf ball 30 from the right side or the left side of the head portion 23, thereby facilitating the user operating the golf club 20.
  • Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims (12)

1. A golf club, comprising:
a shank;
a grip portion mounted on a first end of the shank;
a head portion mounted on a second end of the shank and having a first side formed with a first hitting face and a second side formed with a second hitting face opposite to the first hitting face.
2. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein the head portion has a flattened plate shape.
3. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are parallel with each other.
4. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are arranged symmetrically in an axial direction of the head portion.
5. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein each of the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion has the same shape.
6. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein each of the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion has the same size.
7. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein each of the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion extends in the axial direction of the head portion.
8. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein each of the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion has a substantially convex shape and protrudes outwardly from the head portion.
9. The golf club in accordance with claim 8, wherein the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion are directed toward two different directions.
10. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein the second end of the shank is mounted on an end of the head portion.
11. The golf club in accordance with claim 1, wherein the second end of the shank is located between the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion.
12. The golf club in accordance with claim 11, wherein the second end of the shank is located at a middle position of the head portion between the first hitting face and the second hitting face of the head portion.
