Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates generally to food containers and, more particularly, to cocktail shrimps food containers.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Food packaging in general are low in cost, and easy to use. Commonly used food containers comprise a base body and a cover, wherein the cover maybe partially attached to the base body, or the cover may be completely detachable from the base. For the majority of the food containers, the base bode defines one compartment wherein the food contents will be enclosed. The conventional food container for packaging the cocktail shrimps are similarly configured that the shrimps are arranged in one compartment, and a cup of shrimp sauce is loosely placed in the container. When the container is shaken, the sauce cup may be moved, so the arrangement may be disturbed and the sauce be sprinkled out.
  • The food container of the present invention is an improvement over conventional cocktail shrimp containers in that it features an inner container affixed to the outer container and the outer container and inner container are con-centric. In this configuration, the annular space defined by the outer container and inner container may be filled with shrimp sauce, and the heads of the shrimps will be dipped into the sauce while the tails of the shrimps will be collected in the space defined by the inner container. The con-centric configuration enables the most possible capacity of the container and provides stability of the packaging.
  • SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • Accordingly, the present invention provides a con-centric cocktail shrimp container including: an outer container comprising an outer base, an inner container comprising an inner base, and a cover, wherein the outer base comprises an outer base serving member having a substantially planar central portion, an outer sidewall extending generally upwardly and outwardly therefrom and an outer flange portion extending outwardly from the inner side wall, wherein the inner base comprises an inner base serving member having a substantially planar central portion, an inner sidewall extending generally upwardly and outwardly therefrom and an inner flange portion extending outwardly from the inner side wall, wherein the cover may be adapted to releasably engage the outer container.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

  • FIG. 4 is a sectional detail showing an inner base removably affixed to the outer base in accordance with one alternative embodiment of the present invention;
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • As seen in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the present invention provided a container 10 including an outer container 20 comprising an outer base 21, an inner container 30, and a cover 40, wherein the outer container 20 comprises the outer base 21 having a substantially planar circular portion, an outer sidewall 22 extending generally upwardly therefrom and an outer rim portion 24 extending outwardly from the outer side wall 22; wherein the inner container 30 comprises the inner base 31 having a substantially planar circular portion, an inner sidewall 32 extending generally upwardly and outwardly therefrom and an inner rim portion 33 extending outwardly from the inner side wall 32, wherein the inner base 31 is affixed to the outer base 21, preferably by glue, wherein the inner base 31 and the outer base 21 is con-centric, wherein the cover 40 may be adapted to releasably engage the outer container 20.
  • As seen in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, in a preferred embodiment, the outer sidewall 22 further comprises an annular portion 23 extrudes outwardly at the upper portion of the outer sidewall 22 connected with the outer rim portion 24 wherein the outer rim portion 24 is in reversed U shape. Cover 40 has a cover circular central flat surface 43 raises from a dome portion 42 which is connected to a U shaped cover annular portion 44, which is in turn connected with a reversed U shaped cover rim portion 41. The outer rim portion 24 and the cover rim portion 41 can be pressed against each other to seal the container 10, and then can be release from each other release the cover 40 from the outer container 20.
  • The seal formed by the cover rim portion 41 and the outer rim portion 24 is substantially liquid-proof, whereas the materials forming the outer container, inner container and the cover are resilient and flexible. These materials are also preferably selected so as to be suitable for heating or re-heating the contained food, for example, by way of a conventional or microwave oven or by heat lamps and so forth. The containers of the invention may be made by any suitable technique, that is, techniques employed for forming plastics. The outer container 20, the inner container 30, and the cover 40 generally have wall calipers of from about 10 to about 50 mils, whereas a wall caliper of from about 15 to about 25 mils is somewhat typical.
