Abstract
A skateboard/equipment display rack may also mount other forms of equipment and skateboard accessories. Said display rack may have interchangeable interfaces which may be formed for holding and retaining skateboards, sneakers, rollerblades, clothing or protective gear. Additionally, a storage tray may be included on the rack to store screws, tools, wheels, or other small accessories. A user may use the rack to display skateboards when not in use.
Description
- The present disclosure relates generally to a display rack for skateboards, skateboard accessories, and equipment intended to be displayed.
- A wall mounted skateboard storage rack comprises a base plate having a back planar surface and a front surface including an upper and lower portion which is provided with a hole or holes, preferably vertically aligned at the horizontal center line of the base plate, that serve as a port or ports for a nail, screw, rivet, lug, pin, or bolt to be inserted therethrough to affix the base plate to a wall, a pair of skateboard support arms located at the upper portion of the base plate front surface which are horizontally aligned from each other in spaced apart relation to receive and support a pair of wheels of a skateboard, and either brace surfaces provided at the outer side end of each skateboard support arm or guide members attached to the base plate at a lower portion thereof and in horizontal alignment from each other in spaced apart relation to receive and secure therebetween a pair of wheels of a skateboard to thereby contain the skateboard in substantially vertical alignment with the base plate.
- The prior art primarily teaches a free standing or ceiling mounted display rack for skateboards. As disclosed the current invention is free standing either on the floor or ceiling. Further, the current invention has facilities for other types of sports equipment in addition to
skateboards 30. One feature of the current invention is to store skateboard(s) safely, while facilitating the display such as art on the skateboards or other sports equipment. -

FIG. 15 is a front perspective view of one embodiment of a skateboard display rack with light(s) for the illumination of items displayed; -
FIG. 16 is a front perspective view of one embodiment of a skateboard display rack with wheel(s) to facilitate moving; and -
FIG. 17 is a front perspective view of one embodiment of a collapsible skateboard display rack. - While the disclosure is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, certain illustrative embodiments thereof have been shown in the drawings and will be described in detail below. It should be understood, however, that there is no intention to limit the disclosure to the specific forms disclosed, but on the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the disclosure and the claims.
- As illustrated in
FIGS. 1 a and 1 b frontal views of a skateboard display rack 10 of the present invention which includes abase 15 having a back planarhorizontal surface 15 which also forms the vertical arm, at least onetray 20, and at least onemodular interface 25. Said tray 20 surface of said tray may be magnetized to ensure small parts are not lost. The user may utilize thetray 20 to store various items 105 which may include but not limited to screws, nuts, bolts, skate keys, spare or interchangeable wheels. In another embodiment said vertical arm may be padded 110 to prevent scratching the display rack, reduce noise and/or to enhance the stability of the skateboard. The modular interface(s) 25 may be a pair of skateboard truck or wheel support arms which are located at the upper portion vertical arm and are horizontally aligned from each other in spaced apart relation to correspond to and receivingly support a truck of a skateboard to be mounted thereon. As shown inFIG. 1 b, the truck of the skateboard is mounted onto themodular interface 25 shaped as support arms. In the preferred embodiment the skateboard may either be displayed with the graphics in or out. It is understood that the present invention provides the user with ability of displaying the skateboard art when the skateboard is not in use. Further, at least onestabilizer 100 may be utilized to ensure optimum display angle of said skateboard. In another embodiment, saidstabilizers 100 may be adjusted by the user for personal preference. Additionally, saidstabilizers 100 may also be padded to prevent scratching the skateboard mounted. In one embodiment, the skateboard graphic is displayed, the skateboard is mounted onbrackets 5. The modular interface(s) maintain a skateboard in relation with thebase 15 when the axel of theskateboard 30 are set into the pair of support arms. In the preferred embodiment of this invention the skateboard display rack is of uni-body construction with only removable modular interface(s) 25. In another embodiment, the modular interface(s) 25 are non-removable. The present invention maybe constructed of all type of materials known the persons skilled in the art such as but not limited to polymers, metals, wood, or alloy. In one embodiment, the vertical arm is centered in the skateboard display rack 10. - As shown in
FIG. 2 , the modular interface(s) 25 are removable and interchangeable. The modular interface(s) 25, in addition to being shaped as skateboard support arms may also be shaped according to the type of sport equipment intended to be displayed. Additionally, there may be alid 35 on thetray 20. In another embodiment, the vertical arm may be able to rotate on a pivot 115. As shown inFIG. 3 , one embodiment of themodular interface 25 is a hook 40. The skateboard display rack may have at least onetray 20 for the users to store accessories, such as but not limited to tools, skate key(s), screws, wheels,helmets 125, and sun glasses. - As shown in
FIG. 4 ,FIG. 5 , andFIG. 6 , the skateboard display rack is capable of also displaying and storing items such as but not limited to footwear 45, clothing 50,helmets 125, protective gear 55, equipment 60, androllerblades 120 in conjunction to skateboards. - As shown in
FIG. 7 , the skateboard display rack may have a weightedbase 75 in order to keep the rack from tilting. The amount of weight utilized is at least the weight to keep the skateboard display rack stable. - As shown in
FIG. 8 ,FIG. 9 shows that in other embodiments such as but not limited to, the base being tri-legged or quad-legged. - As shown in
FIG. 10 andFIG. 16 , thebase 15 of the skateboard display rack is mounted on at least onewheel 80 to facilitate moving the entire unit. In the preferred embodiment of the skateboard display rack is designed such that thewheels 80 do not compromise the stability of the unit. - As shown in
FIG. 11 andFIG. 12 , the skateboard display rack maybe mounted on the ceiling to save space. The skateboard display rack may be secured to ceiling with fasteners 85 such as but not limited to nails, screws, rivets, lugs, pins, or bolts to be inserted therethrough and into a wall to affixbase 15 to the wall. - As shown in
FIG. 12 ,FIG. 13 a, andFIG. 6 , thebase 15 may be may take on other shapes including, but not limited to, round, square, oval, or triangular. A user may utilize specific shapes due to either aesthetics or space considerations. - As shown in
FIG. 14 , the skateboard display rack is height adjustable 130 depending on aesthetic considerations. Nevertheless, there may be a functional need depending on the length of theskateboards 30 mounted onto the skateboard display rack. - As shown in
FIG. 15 , the skateboard display rack may contain alight source 90 to further illuminate the displayed items. Another embodiment of the invention features at least oneelectrical outlet 135. Additionally, in a further embodiment, thetray 20 may be illuminated 140. - As shown in
FIG. 17 , skateboard display rack may contain hinges 95 in order to facilitate the storage of the skateboard display rack when not in use. - While the above invention has been described with reference to certain preferred embodiments, the scope of the present invention is not limited to these embodiments. One skilled in the art may find variations of these preferred embodiments which, nevertheless, fall within the spirit of the present invention, whose scope is defined by the claims set forth below.
Claims (24)
1. A skateboard display rack comprising:
at least one base in order to stabilize said rack;
at least one mounting bracket on said base
at least one arm extending vertically from the base;
at least one removable, interchangeable modular interfaces attached to said vertical arm, and;
at least one skateboard removably latched to said interface.
2. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas at least one tray is attached to the vertical arm to store parts and various accessories.
3. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas at least one tray is magnetized.
4. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas at least one tray is removable.
5. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the modular interface may take the form of a hook.
6. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the modular interface is padded to protect from effects such as scratching, and noise.
7. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the modular interface may also be at least one shelf to display items such as sneakers, rollerblades, clothing, and protective gear.
8. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is weighted.
9. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is one formed leg.
10. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is tri-legged.
11. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is comprised of four legs.
12. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is on wheel(s).
13. A skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the base is mounted onto a ceiling.
14. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said interface(s) are pivotally attached to said vertical arm such that a user may rotate on the vertical plane to the desired skateboard to display.
15. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas a combination of items may be display such as skateboards, sneakers, skies, snowboards, protective gear, and clothing.
16. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas such base is shaped such as circular, square, oval, oblong, in order to prevent tipping while displaying items, removing items, or attaching items.
17. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas the vertical arm is height adjustable for the desired display effect.
18. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said display rack contains at least one lighting source to illuminate items on display.
19. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said display rack utilizes stabilizer(s) on said interface for additional support for items displayed.
20. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said display rack contains at least one electrical outlet.
21. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said at least one wheel is attached to the base to facilitate the moving of the display rack.
22. A Skateboard display rack as in claim 1 whereas said display rack is foldable to facilitate storage.
23. A skateboard display rack comprising:
at least one base in order to stabilize said rack;
at least one mounting bracket on said base;
at least one arm extending vertically from the base;
at least one removable, interchangeable modular interfaces extending horizontally from said vertical arm, and;
at least one skateboard removably latched to said interface, and;
at least one tray is attached to the vertical arm to store parts and various accessories.
24. A skateboard display rack comprising:
at least one base in order to stabilize said rack;
at least one arm extending vertically from the base;
at least one removable, interchangeable modular interfaces extending horizontally from said vertical arm, and;
at least one skateboard removably latched to said interface;
said modular interface may also be at least one shelf to display items such as sneakers, and;
at least one tray is attached to the vertical arm to store parts and various accessories.
at least one base mountable either on a ceiling in order to stabilize said rack, at least one mounting bracket on said base;
at least one arm extending vertically from the base being height adjustable for the desired display effect;
at least one removable, interchangeable modular interfaces extending horizontally from said vertical arm, and;
at least one skateboard removably latched to said interface;
said modular interface may also be at least one shelf to display items such as sneakers, and;
at least one tray is attached to the vertical arm to store parts and various accessories.
