Abstract

Whippse semi cone, whippse whip and whippse table are the invented apparatus that will make Whippse Sport a reality. Semi cone/stick, rod are made from resilient /natural suitable materials. Semi cone is molded inside a ferruled funnel that has reinforcing materials/aids to ensure containment and firm bonding of cone with funnel. Semi cone is evenly shaped at the top and all levels of its body. Top body of semi cone is straight, middle body is slanting; lower body is steep ending with a very sharp/stair for spinning. The special whippse table is even from edge to edge, sturdy and has a carved in tiny hole at the centre to position cone before whipping. There also carved in goal symbols of 4-5 in. apart. Strands are from natural/synthetic fibres and are secured through a hole/holed thimble/hook, secured and fixed on a stick to make a whip. Funnel is made from resilient suitable material.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The background of this invention is in the field of sports. The whole purpose of these apparatus was to make a sport that will demand physical discipline, skill of using the infrequently used limb(hand) with the same skill as the frequently used one a reality. The mode of sport in this case is to have the player whip the semi cone using the whip, and compete against a challenger. A right handed player and a left handed player have to find common ground on how to have the semi cone spin without their whipping aborting the spins. This means every player who will claim to have mastered this sport will have to master the art of whipping with both hands with equal skill, so as to be able to successfully beat the challenger. [0001]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The Whippse semi cone invention is the work of Helen Kiama and Mark Wachira, the applicants and inventors. We once watched television and saw the hassles that occur when kids play street hockey, basketball, soccer, skateboarding, what we mean is, its okay for the kids, but neighbours and the even parents sometimes get bothered by the noise of hitting, bouncing, rolling etc. We also thought, how boring it can be if we come up with a sport that will keep kids seated, and no movement. We know kids like moving around. We wondered if there can be a sport that can be played indoors, involve moment, demand no knocking the apparatus against walls or objects, and still hold the interest of a young person. So, we thought about cones. Cones have been there a long time. But we thought, if we come up with a modified modern sort of cone that will endure the rough treatment, and be durable like the hockey puck, but played differently, make rules, draw rink rules, rules that have to be cardinal, like the player has to maintain the cone spinning all throughout, which rules out penalties on floor rules/ice and table rules, maybe the thrill of the setting a record of achieving the longest time of a spin will attract fans and followers, or just the fun of something different, established in this 21[0002] st Century. In this regard, we started thinking of the type of cone we want, of which a semi cone of a unique type is what we ended up with.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Semi-cone, that we call Drotor, Whip, comprising of a straight stick/rod of no more than 2.5 ft in length and no more than 2 in. circumference, and strands fastened through an opening drilled at the end of the stick/rod. The strands are also fastened using a thimble/hook. The Whippse table is a special table specially bearing build in marks/carved symbols to specifically cater for the Whippse sport that it is designed for. The table is 25-30 ft. long and 6-8 ft wide. The table is one even member, [0003] 2, from edge to edge. There is a permanent carved 1, hole. #6 are permanent carved bowls, extensions of 2, on the outer edge of 2, to receive a drotor once a score is through. #4, permanent goal symbols that are carved from the same, #5 are permanently scratched and coloured goal lines. #7 is for keeping FIG. 1 firmly sturdly fixed on the floor. FIG. 1. is made from suitable materials like heavy wood, marble, resilient suitable materials.
  • Whippse semi cone is made from suitable natural materials/resilient materials. #[0004] 13 or 17 of the drotor is positioned on 1, and the player slips his hand # 21, of 23, then whips the drotor with #28. #13, 17 spins on #2, each player whips drotor through #4 past # 5 and onto #6 of the respective sides. Whippse semi cones are shaped and molded to their respective shapes. Each semi cone has #9, upper body, #10, middle body and #11, lowest steepest body. Other embodiments come with #13,16, which are the parts that touch the surface.
  • The Whippse semi cone is molded inside FIG. 2, that has #[0005] 6, and has aids 14, to keep the member sturdly bonded and contained in place. Ferruled Funnel, is made from suitable materials. The sport involves two players on table, who must be skilled in using each hand equally well incase their challengers use the hand that will abort a rotation. This is the greatest challenge that this sport will present to players. The semi cone, unlike most sport apparatus is not supposed to be bounced ob anything other than landing on the surface to avoid disrupting the continuity of spins. On ice/floor, the sport involves 5 players on each team, and a 1 ft. goal. An extra page, 1/1, demo drawing of the Whippse sport in progress, although not required.
