Abstract
An improved structure of a tea bag is disclosed. The bag body is corrugated which can be extended and the bag body is made from higher porosity and hydrophilic paper, and the top face of the bag body is a first porous face with loosen pores, and the center of the bag body is a second porous face with further loosen pores, thereby, the bag body provides an effective way of brewing tea.
Description
- (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a tea bag, and in particular, an improved structure of a tea bag having a corrugated bag body being made from porous and hydrophilic paper material.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- One problem with presently known tea bags is that the bag body occasionally comes apart when the tea is being made, thereby releasing some of the tealeaves from the bag. The defects of the bag body generally results from a sudden build-up pressure of air in the tea bag due to heating of the air when hot water is poured into a cup containing the tea bay, usually accompanied by a mechanical force resulting from impingement of a water stream on the tea bag. Another problem with conventional tea bags involves release of tealeaves from the front surface of the bag body, again due to an air pressure increase and the force of a water stream.
- Conventional tea bag, as shown in FIG. 1, is provided with a
bag body 10 containing appropriate amount of tealeaves and thebag body 10 is then covered and sealed. The top edge of thebag body 10 is then connected with acotton thread 11 at one end. The other end of thecotton thread 11 is connected to atab 12 for the holding of the tea bag by the user and facilitating the withdrawing of the tea bag from a cup. - The conventional tea bag has a very limited space for the tealeaves to be extended when the tealeaves are brewed within a cup of hot water. Besides, when a second time adding water to the teacup, the tea bag will float on the surface of the water and occasionally, the tab falls into the cup.
- In view of the above, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved structure of a tea bag, which mitigates the above drawbacks.
- Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved structure of a tea bag, wherein the bag body is corrugated which can be extended and the bag body is made from higher porosity and hydrophilic paper, and the top face of the bag body is a first porous face with loosen pores, and the center of the bag body is a second porous face with further loosen pores, thereby, the bag body provides an effective way of brewing tea.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of a tea bag, wherein the top face of the bag body is provided with only a first porous face, facilitating the fabricating process of the tea bag.
- Still another object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of a tea bag, wherein the configuration of the bag body is a square base body, hexagonal shape base body and an octagonal shape base body so as to fully utilize the capacity of the bag body.
- The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
- Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional tea bag.
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a folded tea bag in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a tea bag, which has been extended in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a tea bag in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 5 is a schematic view showing the tea bag of the present invention placed within a teacup.
- FIGS. 6A, 6B and6C schematically show various configurations of the tea bag in accordance with the present invention.
- The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
- Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, there is shown a tea bag structure having a
bag body 10. Theteabag 1 is provided with acorrugated bag body 10 which can be extended. If thetea bag 1 is not in use, thetea bag 1 can be pressed to form a flat shape facilitating vacuum packing. When using thetea bag 1, thebag body 10 can be stretched or extended. In accordance with the present invention, thebag body 10 contains appropriate amount of tealeaves and thebag body 10 is made from porous and hydrophilic paper material. The top face of thebag body 10 is a firstporous face 13 with loosen pores, and the center of thebag body 10 is a secondporous face 14 with loosen pores. The center of top face of thebag body 10 is provided with acotton thread 11 connected to atab 12. - The first and the second
porous face bag body 10 can be simplified to form only one firstporous face 13, as shown in FIG. 4. This will provide the similar convenience in adding hot water to brew tea. - Referring to FIG. 5, in application of the
tea bag 1, thetea bag 1 is stretched and is placed within acup 2. Next an appropriate amount of hot water is added and the tealeaves are provided with sufficient space for expansion. Due to the fact that the top face of thebag body 10 of thetea bag 1 is provided with the first and the secondporous face tea bag 1 is inconvenient. In particular, when a second time or subsequent steps to add water to the tea bag. This will avoid the possibility oftea bag 1 floating on water as a result of air within thetea bag 1. Due to the fact that the volume of thetea bag 1 is comparable to the capacity of the teacup, thecotton thread 11 and thetab 12 will not fall into thecup 2. - Referring to FIGS. 6A, 6B and6C, the configuration of the
bag body 10 of thetea bag 1, other than cylindrical shape body, can be a square-base body, a hexagonal shape base body, and an octagonal shape base body. - While the invention has been described with respect to preferred embodiment, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that modifications and improvements may be made to the invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Therefore, the invention is not to be limited by the specific illustrative embodiment, but only by the scope of the appended claims.
- It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
- While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
