Abstract

An improved toy whistle structure includes a main body and a plurality of sub-bodies disposed therein. Each of the sub-bodies has an inner wall that is slightly tapered, and an outer wall provided with a correspondingly tapered movable ferrule for holding and positioning a tongue unit in each of the sub-bodies, thereby achieving facilitated assembly and a rich note variation effect.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. (a) Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention relates to an improved toy whistle structure, more particularly to an improved toy whistle structure which is convenient to assemble and has a rich note variation effect. [0002]
  • 2. (b) Description of the Prior Art [0003]
  • A whistle produces sound when air is forced through tongues disposed therein (see FIGS. 6 and 7). A conventional whistle structure is shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, and includes a [0004] main body 11 and a sub-body 12 disposed within the main body 11. The inner edge of the sub-body 12 is provided with a ferrule 13 at a predetermined position. A tongue unit 14 is positioned by means of the ferrule 13. However, such a structure does not facilitate mounting of the tongue unit 14. Besides, after positioning of the tongue unit, adjustment of the length of resonance is not convenient. Furthermore, since one sub-body 12 can only accommodate one tongue unit 14, the sound produced by the conventional whistle structure with only one sub-body 12 is monotonous.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of this invention is to provide an improved toy whistle structure with tongue units that are convenient to assemble and adjust. [0005]
  • Another object of this invention is to provide an improved toy whistle structure that has a rich note variation effect. [0006]
  • In order to achieve the above objects, an improved toy whistle structure includes a main body and a plurality of sub-bodies disposed therein. Each of the sub-bodies has an inner wall that is slightly tapered, and an outer wall provided with a correspondingly tapered movable ferrule for holding and positioning a tongue unit in each of the sub-bodies. In addition, one or each of two ends of the main body is provided with an echo cover having a sound hole.[0007]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The foregoing and other features and advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings, in which, [0008]
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded schematic view of the structure of the preferred embodiment of this invention; [0009]
  • FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the structure of the preferred embodiment; [0010]
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment with echo covers added; [0011]
  • FIG. 4 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment with two sub-bodies; [0012]
  • FIG. 5 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment with three sub-bodies; [0013]
  • FIG. 6 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment not provided an echo cover in a state of use; [0014]
  • FIG. 7 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment with the echo cover in a state of use; [0015]
  • FIG. 8 is a schematic exploded view of a conventional whistle structure; and [0016]
  • FIG. 9 is a sectional view of the conventional whistle structure. [0017]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention includes a [0018] main body 2 and a plurality of sub-bodies 3 disposed therein. The inner wall of each sub-body 3 is slightly tapered, with a correspondingly tapered movable ferrule 4 disposed around the outer wall thereof. A tongue unit 5 is held by the ferrule 4 and disposed inside each sub-body 3. The tongue unit 5 is firstly fastened by means of the ferrule 4 and then positioned in each sub-body 3 by means of the ferrule 4 that is tapered to match the tapered sub-body 3. Since there are a plurality of sub-bodies 3, the tongue units 5 in the sub-bodies 3 can be configured to have different resonance lengths (L1 and L2) so as to produce the effect of resonance and rich note variations. Furthermore, since each tongue unit 5 is fastened by the ferrule 4 before being positioned in the respective sub-body 3, the resonance length can be adjusted before assembly, thereby achieving the object of easy assembly and adjustment.
  • In addition, with reference to FIGS. [0019] 3, one or each of the two ends of the main body 2 may be provided with a retaining portion 21 for fitting of an echo cover 6 with a sound hole 61, thereby forming an echo chamber to produce stereo effect. Further, FIGS. 4 and 5 are schematic views showing the arrangement of two and three sub-bodies 3, respectively.
  • Referring to FIG. 6, when the present invention is used in a [0020] sleeve 7 with a sound element 71 to perform piston movement, two tongue units 4 of different resonance length can produce a harmonious resonance effect. If an echo cover 6 is added as shown in FIG. 7, then, in addition to the resonance effect, there is an added stereo effect. Hence, this invention utilizes the ferrule 4 to facilitate assembly and adjustment. The arrangement of the plurality of sub-bodies 3 and tongue units 5, as well as the sound cover 6, makes note variations richer.
  • Although the present invention has been illustrated and described with reference to the preferred embodiment thereof, it should be understood that it is in no way limited to the details of such embodiment but is capable of numerous modifications within the scope of the appended claims. [0021]
