FLASH LIGHT SAFETY RAZOR.
Application filed March 6, 1926. Serial No. 92,793.
This invention relates generally to safety razors used for shaving, the invention havlng more particular reference to an improved safety razor and combined electric light. The invention has for an object the provision of an improved combination safety razor and electric light which will enable the user to secure a better shave due to better light.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an improved combination safety razor and electric light of simple and cheap construction and novel arrangement of parts.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the follow- 'ing description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claim in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.
Fig. 1 of the drawing, is a front elevational View of my improved combination safety razor and electric light.
Fig. 2 is a side elevational View thereof.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof.

Fig. 5 is a similar view illustrating a further modification of my improved combination safety razor and electric light.
As here embodied my improved safety razor and electric light embodies a case 10, of hollow cylindrical construction, adapted to contain a dry battery 11 of common ordi nary construction, as a source of electric power to light the electric light bulb 12, which is suitably located above the dry bate tery 11, when the switch button 13, is pressed inward. The case 10, is also provided with an end 14, removably' attached thereto, by screw threads or any similar suitable means.
The cap 15, is removably attached to the upper extremity of the case 10, by screw threads or any similar suitable means, and is provided with a lens 16, or transparent member, preferably at an angle to the cap 15,
as clearly shown in the accompanying drawmg.
The safety razor blade 17, is of common ordinary design and construction, such as generally used for safety razors, and is suitably supported by the vertical projecting portions 18 of the support 19 which is provided with a serrated edge 20, located adjaccnt to the cutting edge of the razor blade 17, so as to regulate or gauge the shaving cut of the razor blade, as is common practice in safety razors. The support 19 is also pro-' vided with depending elements 21 and 22, suitably bent or otherwise formed, sons to permit of removably attaching the depending elements 21, at their lower extremities to the said cap 15, as at 23 and 24 respectively, by means of thumb screws 25, or any similar suitable means.'
The clip 26, is pivotally attached to the depending elements 21 and 22, as at 27, and is provided with a pointed free extremity 28, and a similar shaped portion 29 adapted to firmly hold the razor blade 17 in place, it being understood that the clip 26 is positioned directly above the razor blade 17, between the vertical projecting portions 18 of the support 19, and that the clip 26, is provided with inner extremities 30, adapted to engage the V shaped recesses suitably formed in the thumb screws 31, which are threadedly attaohedto the depending elements 21 and 22, and. with nuts 32. The above described construction being such as will permit the said thumb screws 31 when turned or rotated to force the clip 26 against the razor blade 17 so as to firmly hold the razor blade 17 in place, it being under- 35 stood that the said nuts 32, are provided to lock the thumb screws 31 in position.
The cap 15 is provided with recesses 41, adapted to receive the protruding portions 42, of the depending elements 21 and 22, it being understood that the recesses 41 are located in raised or extended portions of the cap 15, the above mentioned construction being such as will permit the extended elements 21 and 22 to be positioned at any desired relative angle to the said cap 15.
Referring in particular to Fig. 4 of the accompanying drawing in which I have illustrated a modification of my improved device, the depending elements 21 and 22, are jointed at their outer extremities, as at 33, which is provided with a threaded. aperture 34, adapted to removably receive the holder 35, and the clamping member 36, to firmly hold the safety razor blade 37 in position, it being understood that the said holder 35, the clam ing member 36, and, the safety razor blade 37, are those used in the Gillette safety razor, which is extensively used.
Referringin particular to Fig. 5, of the accompanying drawing, in which I have illustrated a further modification of my improved device, the threaded a )erture 34 is adapted to removahly receive t e holder 38, and the clamping member 39, to firmly hold the safety razor blade 40 in position, it being understood that the said holder 38, the clamping member 39, and the safety razor blade 40, are those used in the Gem safety razor, which is commonly used.
My flashlight device and safety razor holder is readily adapt able to any of the present type of safety razors which have a threaded stem,or a tapped hole for the purpose of attaching the same to a holder.
Having: thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows:
In a device of the class described, the combination with a cap adapted to cover one end of a flashlight and to direct light therefrom, of links pivotally attached at one end to the sides of said cap and diverging in advance thereof in spaced relation to the paths of the rays of lightemitted by said fiashlight, said links being adapted at their upper extremities to be pivotally attached to the end portions of a safety razor for adjustahly supporting the same in advance of said cap, and projections on the inner sides of said links adapted to engage in spaced: recesses in said cap for retaining said links in an adjusted position.
