The object of this" invention is to' supply a small, compact and artistic case or container for a plurality of aids to facial beauty, such as face powder, rouge, mascara,
- eye-shadow, lip-stick, an eye-brow brush, etc.
A An illustration of'one form of practical embodiment of my inventive idea, whereby therabove stated object is attained is clearly shown in the accompanying drawings in which- Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the case.
Fig. 2 is a transverse section of said case intermediate the caps or end closures; with the various accessories removed.
Fig. 3 is an end view.
Fig. 4 is a central, vertical longitudinal section of the case, in the ositionshown n Fig. 1, and showing certa n beauty aids in position within the case.
Fi 5 is a side view of a small container for ace powder, and indicating how said container is carried with a closure member.
Figs. 6 and 7 are a side and end View respectively of said powder container.
Fig.8 is a side view of a l1 -st1ck and an eye-brow pencil projecting rom opposite ends of a tubular sleeve and showing said sleeve carried by a supplementary elongated tube, which in'turn, is carried by a closure element.
Fig. 9 shows said lip-stick and pencil removed from said tube.
Fig. 10 is a side view of a tubular container for paste, rouge and mascara showing said container as carried by a closure member.
Fig. 11 is an end view of the adjacent end of Fig. 10.
Fig. 12 is a perspective viewof the con-' tainer shown in Figs. 10 and 11, and in the open position.
Fig. 13 is a side View of an eye-brow brush in position for use.
' Fig. 14 is a central, longitudinal section of the carrier for said brush showing the brush in its reversed position.
Fig. 15 is a'side vlew of said brush removed from its carrying members.
It will be a material aid to a full understanding of the reasons for the construction shown in said drawings to here point out that the case proper. as shown in Fig. 1, together with the closure members for the respective ends of the tubes or barrels thereof, constitute the permanent and regular portions and members of this device; and
that the supplementary devices shown in Figs. 5 to 15 of the drawings constitute acoessories which ma be changed, inter changed and renewe at will, an 'as use and necesslty may require; said devices in and of themselves, as considered apart rom the complete or anization shown in Fig. 4, are termed rells, and in the commercial promotion of this invention are supplied and may be purchased as needed, although the ipmpict is originally sold complete as in In detail the construction shown in said drawings is as follows:
Within the case 1 are mounted two barrcls or tubular members 2 and 3 arranged in contiguous parallel relation. of said barrels are open andeach end is supplied with a closure member 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively. Said closure members are also tubular in form havin an outside diameter of such size as to adapt them to fit closely into the ends of said tubes 2, 3 and to be readily insertable into. and removable therefrom. All of said closure members are preferably identical in size and shape, and are of socket-like construction with their openings or sockets disposed inwardly when in their closed position within saidbarrels 2 and 3,see Figs. 5, 8, 10 and 14.
Each closure member is adapted to carry within its socket, one or more beauty requisites or accessories, or to carry a container v,for such accessories as the case may be, or
as desired by the user of the compact. As
shown in the drawings, such beauty aids or accessories comprise the following items,
Member 4 carries a small container 8 of face powder which may be of the usual form having a rotating tip 9, to either retain or release the powder. according to the rotative position of said top.
Member 5 carries a tubular extension 10 and this extension, in turn, carries a reversible sleeve 11 in one end of which is inserted one end of a lip-stick 12, and in the other end of said sleeve is inserted one end of an eye-brow pencil 13. See Figs. 8 and 9.
Member 6 carries a cylindrical structure 14 which is centrally, longitudinally severed, so as to form two semi-cylindrical pans 15 and 16 which are hinged together at 17 and may be opened to the position shown in Fig. 12; when this device 14 is closed, and one end of it inserted within said member 6, it is firmly secured in the PATENT .o FrcE.
The ends I I closed position. The pan 16 may contain rouge and the pan 15 may contain mascara,
each in a paste form, or any other accessories in paste form. The closure member 7 is shown as carrying atubular extension 18,
Y which in turn carries an eye-brow brush ee Figs. 13, 1 4.and 15. SmdFig. 15'
19. shows the sample refill which may be readily substituted in the place of one that has become worn. y I
As shown in thedrawings said barrels are secured together by means of the metallic casing 1 but any other method of attachment may be employed, or the "case may beof a casing having formed therein a plurality of tubular parallel barrels, each barrel being open at both ends, a closure for each open end of the barrels, each closure 30 comprising aflanged head and an inwardly extended flange to fit in y'vhereby to house beauty aids within t e barrels.
2. In a beauty compact, the combination of acasing having formed therein a lurality of tubulargarallel barrels, each arrel being open atoth ends, a closure member for each opposite end of the barrels, each closure member having an inwardly facing socket'to on age in the res 'tive o n ends of the barre s, and each soc et mem r bearing a rece tacle for beauty aids adapted to be partial y and removably inserted within the respective receptacles and housed in the barrels.
3. In a beauty compact, the combination of a casing open at both ends and formed "with a central reduced portion, a .pair of barrels open at both ends and housed within the casing and confined in place by the central reduced portion, a closure for each 0 on end of the barrels, said closures provlded with sockets to su port beauty aids to be partially and re ovably inserted within said sockets so as to be carried by said closure members.
