HAIRDRESS.

Application filed August This invention relates to improvements in hairdress and has particular reference to new and useful bands.

An object of the invention is the provision of a simple head band having means for retaining said band in the wearers hair.

Another object of the invention finds embodiment in an arcuate head band having a centrally disposed section having a plurality of teeth.

With these and other objects in view my invention consists in the novel construction and arrangement of the parts and members shown in the accompanying drawing, described in the following specifications and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

Referring to the illustrations: Figure 1 is a view in perspective showing a head band embodying my invention.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of a modified form of the band shown in Figure 1, having a tooth section depending from the center of the arcuate band.

Figure 3, is a front elevation of theband shown in Figure 2.

Figure 1, is a view in perspective showing a pair of hingedly connected bands.

Referring in more detail tothe illustration, the band shown in Figure 1 comprises an arcuate band 10 of flexible material having the ends 10 thereof bent inwardly and provided at such bent ends 10 with teeth 10 The crown part 10 0]": the band: may be worn on the forehead or on the back of the hair and the bent ends 10 together with 3, 19%5. the teeth 1O insure a retainment of same in the wearers hair. The resiliency and shape of the band further retains same in position on the wearers head.

In the illustration shown by Figures 2 and 3, the band 11 is made slightly wider at the crown and provided with asuitable attached section 12 having a plurality of teeth. The ends of this band are similar to that shown in Figure 1.

In Figure 4, which is a double band made by hingedly connecting the band. 13 of plain rectangular cross section to the band 14 similar in construction to that shown in Figure 1, the band 13 is pivotally connected to the band 1 1 and 1%.

I claim:

1. A hairdress comprising an arcuate band of flexible material, the ends of said band being bent inwardly to afford a hook engagement in the wearers hair, the terminals of said bent ends having each a plurality of teeth thereon, and a comb-like section intermediate said ends and having a plurality of teeth depending below said band.

2. A hairdress comprising a pair of pivotally connected. arcua-te bands of flexible material, one of said bands having its ends pivoted near the ends of the other banch said other band having its ends bent inwardly to form hoolelike ends.

3. A hairdress as embodied in claim 2, and including teeth formed on said hook-like ends.
