DEEOSIT AND COLLECTION RECEPTAGLE.
Application filed January 22, 1923.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES F. FISHER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wessington Springs, in the county of Jerauld and State of South Dakota, have invented a new and useful Deposit and Collection Receptacle, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a deposit and collection receptacle, the primary object of the invention beingto provide a receptacle to facilitate the delivery and collection f milk or the like.
An object of the invention is to provide means for indicatingthe quantity of milk or cream desired by the purchaser.
Another object of the invention is to provide means for supporting and containing the checks, tickets or money used in payment for the article delivered.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Referring to the drawings:
Figure 1 is a front elevational view of a receptacle constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a side elevational view thereof.
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 33 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on line 4-4 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawings in detail, the device embodies a box-like structure indicated generally by the reference character 5 and includes a front hinged wall 6 which may be secured in its closed position as by means of the latch member 7 although it is to be understood that a suitable lock may be supplied in this capacity.
Secured to the inner surface of the hinged wall or closure 6 is a supporting shelf 8 Serial No. 614,195.
which is disposed in a horizontal plane and arranged substantially intermediate the ends of the hinged wall 6 to provide a support for the receptacles 9 and 10 respectively.
In order that the receptacles 9 and 10 may be held in upright positions, a bar 11 is provided which has right angled end portions 12 that support the bar proper in spaced relation with the inner surface of the hinged wall 6 providing a pocket for the receptacles 9 and 10. These right angled ends of the bar 11 are secured to the hinged. wall 6 in any suitable manner, screws 13 being employed in the present showing.
A suitable opening is formed in one wall of the receptacle 5 which opening is closed by the transparent member 14 which permits the person receiving the articles from the receptacle to ascertain whether or not the article or articles have been delivered, thereby eliminating the necessity of opening the receptacle 5.
On the outer surface of the hinged Wall 6 is arranged a pivoted indicator 15 which has its indicating extremity disposed over the spaces 16 formed by the lines 17 Indicating characters or letters may be placed in the spaces 16 for indicating quantity of milk or cream desired by the purchaser, or to indicate whether or not milk or cream is desired.
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a deposit and collection receptacle which will greatly facilitate the delivery and collection of milk or similar articles.
While I have shown and described a receptacle having a single wall, it is to be understood that the principles of the invention may be employed in the construction of a double walled receptacle and employing a vacuum to clean the walls to insulate against heat and cold.
Having thus described the invention, wha is claimed as new is I In a deposit and collection receptacle, a box-like body portion having a hinged closure, a shelf secured to the innersurface of the hinged closure, a bar secured to the inner surface of the hinged closure and arranged above the shelf, said bar having a In testimony that I claim the foregoing central portion arranged 111 spaced relation as my own I have hereto aflixed my s1gna with the lnner surface of the hinged. c10- ture in the presence or two Witnesses.
sure to accommodate receptacles between the CHARLES F. FISHER. bar and inner surface of the hinged c10- Witnesses: sure, and means for normally holding the CHAS. R. HATCH,
hinged clesure in its closed position. F. M. DUNN.
