To 110m it may concern Be 1t known that I, THoMAs B. STEWART, a cltlzen of the United States, and resident of Los Angeles, in the .county of Los Angeles and State of California., have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pro` pellers, of which the following is a specification. v
This invention relates to .propellers for motor driven vessels, the object of the invention being the provision of means for conlining the water adjacent to the propeller blades in such manner as to employ the full force of the water during the entire revolution of the propeller; a. further object being to provide a device of this character which embodies simplicity of construction with great durability.
In carrying out my invention for the attainment of these objects I employ a propeller havin a plurality of flat blades xed to a hub an set obliquely to the axis of the hub shaft and which are respectively of equal width at their outer and inner ends, said blades respectively having a flanged outer end, which is bolted to an annular rim, and an obliquely extended hereinafter fully described and specifically set forth in the appended claim.

I do not confine myself to the exact details of mere mechanical construction and form of the arts as herein shown and described, as I be ieve that under the spirit of my invention I am entitled to such variations as may ri htly fall within the scope of the appende claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I ,claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
' A propeller comprising a hub, a. fiat annular rim surrounding the hub, a plurality of flat radiating blades connecting the hub and rim and confined wholly within the pane of the side edges of the rim, the blades ing of the same width throughout their entire lengths and disposed obliquely to the axis of the hub andhaving one of their side edges provided with angularly disposed a'n the leading edges of the rim and bla es being sharpened.
