Be it known that I, JOSEPH E. LHEUIUX, a eitizen of Great Britain, residing -at Manville, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented new and use: ul Improvments in Sash-Locks, of which the following is a specification.
Ihis invention relates to windows, particularly to sash looks, and has for its object the provision of a look vvhereby storm windows or screen frames may be Secured with in the window frame.
,An important object is the provision -of a sash look which includesa movable member eccentrically mounted whereby upon rotation thereof it will be Caused to extend behind a retaining strip, this movable member being also formed cam-shape in cross section whereb upon rotation thereof the storm window or screen frame Will be drawn closely into engagement with the retaining strip whereby to hold the same not only against dislocation but also against any possible rattling. r
Another object is the provision of a device of this character which is so constructed that when a storm sash is removed to permit its replacing by a screen, ne gap Will be loft remaining in the retaining strip, a disadvantage present with the ordinary forms of window fasteners for this purpose.
An additional object is the provision of a devise of this character which Will be simple and inexpensive in manufacture, which may be quickly and easil installed or removed, which will be dura le in use, and a general improvement in the art.
With the above and other objects and advantages in view, the invention consists in the details of construction to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in WhCh- 7 Figure 1 is a front elevation of a window frame having a storm sash engaged therein and secured in position by a plurality of my fasteners,

Referring more particularly to* the drawings, the letter A. designates a window frame upon the sides B of Which are secured longitudinally extending; retaining strips C. The letter D designates a 'storm sash fitting with-. in the frame A and adapted to be closely engaged against the strips 0.
In carrying out my invention I provide the sides of the frame A With recesses 10 within which are. disposed members 11 which fit snugly within the recesses and which have end extensions 12 disposed beneath the strips C. The strips C are also out aWay, as shown at 13, to accommodate the body portions 14 of the members 11 which, when in position, are co-extensive with the severed ends of the strips C so that the effect Will be the same as if the strips C were not interrupted or out away. These members 11 are formed of metal and are adapted to be engaged by movable members to be described.
Secured upon the sash D opposite the retaining members 11 are casings 15 which are secured in place by means of screws 16 passing throngh attaching ears 17. Each casing is formed hollow and is provided in its outer face with a circular hole 18 through Which passes the stem 19 of a movable member 20 having a handle 21. This movable member 20 has a substantially semicircnlar head and the stem 19 is eccentric with respect thereto. A screw 22 extends from the bottom portion of the casing 15 and is threaded into the inner end of the stem 19 for retaining the movable member 20 in position while perrfiitting partial rotation thereof.
In order that the movable member 20 may be held in either of these two positions, the stem 19 is provided upon opposite sides with flattened portions 23 which are engaged by a pair of spaced leaf-springs 24 which are secured at one end within the casing 15.
