My invention comprises a refrigerator constructed of reinforced concrete, circular or cylindrical in contour, with a reinforced concrete cover with revolving shelves and ex.- ternal means for actuating them, and said shelves preferably subdivided and the refrigerator wall provided with sliding doors for giving access thereto and preferably with means for visually determining where to stop the revolving shelves according to the desired articles placed thereon, all of which is hereinafter more particularly described.

Two of these ribs are preferably solid and securely fastened to the platform and one rib c is partially hollow or tubular, that is, from its outer end near the wall of the refrigerator toward the center, and I provide the refrigerator with several shelves of circular form.

The refrigerator is provided with a tubular center 6 and with radial divisions 0 preferably equally spaced. These radial divisions. are advantageously provided with flanges which are riveted to the tubular center 6, and the shelves arevadvantageously supported by brackets 12 riveted or otherwise-secured to the radial divisions and projecting beneath the shelves, so that the center'e and the radial divisions are securely fastened as a unit for supporting the shelves. With the said shelves, the radial divisions and the tubular center, I have shown andprefer to employ a top plate f and above and connected to the top-plate f is a. circular rack f In the radial rib 0 of the platform a I place a shaft 3, with a gear i on its inner end and with a square or other shaped opening in its outer end, and this rib 0 is cut away at the gear 4 as will appear particularly from reference to Fig. 5.

In. the bottom of the tubular center e and in the center of the bottom a of the refrigerator I place parts which constitute, \a' ste bearing 8' for the series of shelves, divislons and tubularcenter, and about which and the thimble 0 said parts turn, and I prefer to employ a drip pipe 9 upon the lower end of the tubular center eiand a drip cup 10 formed at the center of the bottom plate a and a drip pipe 11 from the drip cup 10 and a drip pan 13 below the refrigerator so that all the water from the melt-ing ice passes away by the center thimble c or tubular center 6, drip pipe 9, drip cup 10, drip pipe 11 into the drip pan 13. The teeth of the gear 4 mesh with the teeth of the circular rack f and as the handle 7 is turned it rotates an auxiliary shaft 6 and the shaft .3 with its gear 4. This turning movement causes the movement of the circular rack f and consequentlywith it the series of shelves, the tubular center and the radial divisions; all of said parts turning as a unit within the circular body of the refrig erator. In this connection I have provided upon the surface of the refrigerator curved slide-ways 14 and sliding doors h which close openings provided in the body of the refrigerator which give access to the several circular shelves, and in these sliding doors I prefer to place plates of glass which provide, for visually viewing the contents of each of the series of shelves as the same are rotated by the handle 7 and devices actuated thereby. Therefore when it is desired to remove any particular article from the refrigerator, the series of shelves are rotated and the contents of the shelves viewed through the plates or sight-openings h and it is only necessary to open any door of the refrigerator when the desired article is found, and also to place articles into the refrigerator.
I have shown in Fig. 3 and may employ, a pan or vessel 2' for holding drinking water inside of the ice chest at the upper end of the refrigerator, with a pipe and cock 2' therefrom and a pan 2' to hold a tumbler, but I do not limit my invention to the use of these devices, as the same may be dispensed with, and should the vessel 2' be employed it is preferable to make the same conform to the inner contour of the body of' the refrigerator.
I claim as my invention 1. A refrigerator comprising a circular or cylindrical body having openings providing access thereto, a bottom plate and supports therefor, a cover ada ted to fit over the cylindrical body, a platform near the upper part of the cylindrical body adapted to support ice and form of the upper part of the cylindrical body an ice chest, a series of cirular shelves spaced a suitable dis tance apart, a tubular center and radial divisiousconnccted together and forming a unit adapted to be rotated within the cylindrical body, an open-ended 'thimble or sleeve depending centrally from the platform for ice and entering the upper open end of the tubular center and forming a pivot, a step-bearing at the lower end of the tubular center also forming a bearing for the revoluble element and means for rotating the revoluble element and so arranged that a. part thereof at the same time fixes the position of the platform for ice.
2. A refrigerator comprising a circular or cylindrical body having openings providing access thereto, a bottom plate and supports therefor, a cover adapted to fit over the cylindrical body, a platform near for the revoluble element, radial ribs on the, under surface of the platform for ice for stiffening the same and one of said ribs hollow, a shaft with a gear on one end of the same received in said-hollow rib, a sleeve passing through the concrete body of the refrigerator, a shaft in said sleeve and a handle outside on the shaft, means connecting the inner end of said shaft with the end of the shaft in said sleeve for rotating the shafts from the handle, a circular rack secured on the upper end of the revoluble member and adapted to be turned for the turning of the revoluble member by the rotation of the handle.
3. In a refrigerator and in combination, a cylindrical body, a platform for ice near the upper end forming therein an ice chamber, a rib secured to the inner surface of the body as a support for the said platform, a center 0pen-ended thimble or sleeve secured to the under surface of the platform, radial ribs on the under surface of the platform for stiffening the same and oneof said ribs made hollow fora portion of its length, a revoluble member within the refrigerator for holding articles to be kept cool, a top plate therefor and a circular rack secured on the top plate concentric with the axis, a a
shaft in the hollow rib member having a gear on the inner end thereof meshing with the teeth of said rack, and means for actuating said shaft and turning thesame to revolve the revoluble member.
4:. In a refrigerator and in combination, a cylindrical body, a platfrom for ice near the upper end forming therein an ice chamber, a rib secured to the inner surface of the body as a support for the said platform, a center open-ended thimble or sleeve secured to the under surface of the platform, radial ribs on the under surface of the platform for stiffening the same and one of said ribs made hollow for a portion of its length, a revoluble member within the refrigerator for holding .articles to be kept cool, a top plate therefor and a circular rack secured to the top plate concentric with the axis, a shaft in the hollow rib member having a gear ontheinner end thereof meshing with the teeth of said rack, a sleeve passing through the wall of the circular refrigerator body, an auxiliary shaft in said sleeve, a
handle at the outer end of said shaft for turning the same, a connection from the inner end of the shaft to the end of the shaft 15 in said rib, whereby the shaft within the rib is rotated for the rotation of the revoluble body within the refrigerator.
