IMPROVEMENT. IN FRUIT-J' ARS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS C. PUnDY, of J anesvillein the county of Rock and State of Wisconsin, havel invented a new and useful Improvement in Fruitar; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact descriptionthereof', which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification.

The' cover has ears c a that project beyond the mouth of the can.
Through these ears are fitted vertical .screws O O. i
Around the neck ofthe can is placed a wire ring, D, on which, by projecting coils, loops b b are formed under the screws. The screws are inserted into these loops, and, as they are .turned down,' they draw the cover securely upon the mouth of the can.
Thus, by means of the wire yoke or ring, a simple, reliable, and strong fastening is produced.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as new-and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination and arrangement of the wire yoke D, provided with loops b, the cover B, and screws C, with the neck ofthe fruit-can, substantially as set forth and shown.
